Great ID Juggernaut!
Like everyone else said that ID is full of win!
I don't think that increasing your volume day for BP is a bad idea assuming you don't increase it too much. I beleive in Practical Programming Rip recommends that your VD be about 85-90 percent of your ID when doing 5x5 and a 1x5 scheme, so by that logic 225/230 for VD bench sounds about right.
Great minds think alike I see - I also threw in Dips and Chin-ups on my ID ahah.
Vids next ID?My log

02-05-13 Volume
Was outta town over the weekend, and didn't come back until late yesterday, so I had to move volume day to today.
Warmups: RC Work & Dynamic Stretching
Squat
135x5
185x3
225x2
255x5
255x5
255x5
255x5
255x5 <-- Had 1 more. 2 more woulda been a struggle.
Had to wait for the bench, so in between I did 4 sets of facepulls, 1 set of ab-wheel, and 1 set of Hanging Leg Raises, and also did extra stretching.
Bench
135x5
185x3
225x5
225x5
225x5
225x5
225x6 <-- 1 more woulda been a struggle
Overview:
Squats were definitely challenging, but not so terribly hard. Was surprised cuz the first set of 255 felt really good, and 255 on my back has never felt lighter.
Bench was slightly more challenging than squats, but it wasn't too bad either. I was pretty surprised that I was able do a 6th rep on the last set of bench, but I got it.
Rest times were about 4-6 minutes, about 6-8 for the last couple sets on both lifts.
ID Friday looks like this: Squats- 295x5, Bench- 255x5. Both would be all-time PR's.My log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=136366931

Thanks brah.
Thanks man! Yeah, the 6 reps of 225 was really challening in the last set, and felt good that I got an extra rep.
Thanks Woodman! I would say right now it's more than likely I will keep volume numbers the same next week, mostly bcuz I now need to create some separation between volume weight and intensity weight. Weights are too close together.
Oh! Also forgot to mention! I finally got my lifting belt. Although, debating now when exactly I wanna start using it..My log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=136366931

Cool stuff. Nice work.
I'd say use the belt for your recovery day lifts, not because you need it or anything, but to start getting used to it and break it in, and then decide whether you want to use it for this intensity day or not. But I'd suggest go ahead and use it. Use it for warm-ups and everything this week to get used to it, and then after, you can just use it for your heaviest warm-up and the worksets...My starting strength, etc. log:, currently cutting on TM: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=143963661

In. Good job with the PRs man
I agree about the belt comment up there ... get used to it on recovery days and warm ups to feel it out. I found the belt a little weird when I first got itTraining Log - The long overdue comeback: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=171218951

Recommendation for squatting in the belt. You don't want it too tight...where it is really tight all the time. You want it a little loose when relaxed and you expand your stomach with air to make it tight.
Get it where you think it needs to be, then go down into the bottom squat position while sucking in your belly. At the bottom, move the belt around to a place it is comfortable and doesn't push on your legs or ribcage or anything weird. Then expand your belly into it and stand up. That is the place for the belt to sit on squats. My starting strength, etc. log:, currently cutting on TM: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=143963661

NO ID day?!
Blasphemy! Lol - we all have other things that interfere with our gym schedule at times, just kill it next time!
Bring on the VD! I've been meaning to ask you btw - for your VD why do you always do your last set to AMRAP - I always thought on TM your VD should be tough, but not all out - is that not necessarily correct? My log

Thanks man. On my last set for the volume lifts, it's not necessarily AMRAP. Farley did it in the past when he was consistently lifting. His exact reason for doing it, I'm not sure, but for my own reason, it was just me pushing my volume day, trying to get an extra rep or two, but at the same time, not going to complete failure. I wanna push myself on volume day, but you can't/shouldn't be going to failure or you'll set yourself up for a very bad ID.
So no, it's not a necessary thing to do at all.
Thanks brah. Wanna see you get healthy!
Thanks man.
Thanks for your concern? lol...My log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=136366931
