I would never put myself in that situation. But yes she was violent and deserved something for it, locking on the balcomy was not it though as it caused her death due to what he previously said.
The question posed that you answered said assumimg you are almost certain you were going to die
Edit: anyway, I've spent to much time discussing this, I'll be back later. Maybe in the meantime read all the details of the hypothetical you answered and have another thinkLast edited by cookiefiend; 10-18-2016 at 07:21 PM.

Technically you're right. The standard is beyond reasonable doubt and it is extremely high. I do wonder if the jury will get swayed merely by appeal to emotion. Plenty of stupid people on a jury however Tostee's lawyer would've had the chance to challenge a juror if it helps forward his case, so if he's a good lawyer, I'm sure he would've taken the opportunity to do so. Judges also privately instruct jury members as to what evidence is relevant and what should be disregarded so I wouldn't write out the jury just yet.
I feel like you need a hobby.
*Edit: That may or may not be sarcasm but honestly, with miscers, I can never tell.

At one point he says to her "I need your DNA"...that is weird as fuk too....then telling her he is recording the whole thing, lucky she had not thrown her off balcony etc. While I don't believe he ever had the intention to and that she did get herself into the quarrel by instigating, I can understand why she did what she did. I don't think he will be found guilty however.

No wonder you are red you can't read. Right after what you bolded it then says "if you don't have one you should find one. If you don't have money for a lawyer then when the cops question you, you can ask them to give you one."
I live in Canada, I don't have a lawyer and crime rates are low. There have been speeches from cops in my area saying what I echo'd. Only the rich have hired lawyers ready on hand. However average people can do research and find one, and people living in poverty have the right to an attorney for free.
The cops on average are always the first ones to be called in any first world country. It doesn't mean it is the best way to do it, and this is for your own good.
Yeah, he has a DUI. But as I mentioned his family is rich, his dad has a lawyer on hand. It was correct of him to call that lawyer. GT shoud not be defending himself, and should not put himself in the position where he has to do it himself especially to law enforcement or a judge. Regardless of if he is innocent or not.
May be old but still holds true. Part 1 is an ex defense attorney saying the same sht.

I am far too intelligent too express sarcasm, such pettiness is below me
my mental acuity has transcended that which was once thought possible by Lewis Terman himself, one of the first too engage in that most pathetic act of folly, believing he could quantitate neural efficiency with a value as simple as a 3 digit number. An outlier such as myself, one of the few beings who have truly removed themselves from social paradigms and societal consequences (and did so intentionally and fully consciously for that matter), have no interest in engaging in the contemptibly pathetic interpersonal power struggles that define human relationships. Begone subhuman, I have no more interest in engaging with thee. You do not and can not comprehend the force in which you are interacting with.
