    it was pretty cool, something fun to do with the wife on a sunday night. I should probably be in bed with the hours I work, but workouts are just irresistable to me especially on the Con-Cret. plus I find it hard to fall asleep on Sunday nights usually. probably from sleeping in sunday morning.....

    it's definitely different, works the muscles in a way they aren't quite as used to. I need to increase my functional ability as much as my strength (thanks to my fellow logger Doc whose workouts made me realize this). off to work in a little bit and then should be hittin the weights on lunch. Chest, shoulders, and tri's for me today, excited for it and ready to hit some new PR's!

    starting tomorrow, I'm going to begin implementing pool plyometrics 3 times a week during the season, I have heard great things about them and since my knees are banged up, this should allow me to push myself, get faster, etc. etc. with the low impact of being in the pool. I'm pretty darn excited, I want to start tonight but pool will be closed by the time I get off work, so I'm going to get in their tomorrow 5:30 in the morning to do work!

    Nice, I really value functional strength as well, there's not a lot of situations where you need to be able to press a heavy ass bar off your chest.

    And if I had fully addressed how awesome both those pics are I don't think I would have had time to reply to Doc as well but suffice it to say, I wholeheartedly approve.

    This is awesome, I've been wanting to get into the pool at my gym for a while but have never managed it. This might be the motivation I need, my joints would thank me right now too.

    That actually is the park we have here, except it was dark when we were there tonight. We did a circuit with exercises we don't usually do. we superset upper and lower body exercises and did uphill sprints in between.

    The few other people that were there kept giving us weird looks, probably because of what we were doing and what I was wearing. I put together a weighted vest out of some of my military gear, dumbbells, Redline energy drink bottles, AA batteries, and zipties. it turned out pretty interesting. total weight is about 25lbs. Here's a picture to help feed your curiosity:



    Took 2 Con-Cret capsules before hand.

    The breakdown:

    1 mile Warm-up run around the track

    Weighted Vest goes on (approx. 25 lbs.) and 20lb dumbbells

    Dumbbell Curl into Arnold Press – 2x20
    Squat Down Calf Raise – 2x20
    Uphill Sprint
    Pushup into Dumbbell Row – 2x15
    Walking lunges – 2x10
    Uphill Sprint
    Dumbbell Snatch – 3x10
    Plie Squat – 3x15
    Uphill Sprint
    Mountain Climbers – 3x20
    Jump Squat – 3x12
    Uphill Sprint
    Crunch – 3x25
    Bicycle Crunch – 2x30
    Lying Leg Lifts – 2x12
    Uphill Sprint

    Run Between Stations (total 1 mile)
    Dips – 3x12
    Monkey Bars – 3 Rotations
    Pull-ups – 2x10

    By the time it was done I was pretty tired. Did alot of things my body isn't used to.

    Strength - 9/10 - felt pretty strong, but only had 20's so I guess maybe that's why. i need to buy some more dumbbells one of these days for working out at home.
    Endurance - 8.5/10 - by the time it was over with I was pretty well ready to be done with the workout. I could've done more, but am glad I stopped when I did tonight. Want to save some for tomorrows workout!
    Recovery - 10/10 - yet again Con-Cret is amazing with recovery. I haven't had muscle soreness or DOMS since I started taking it. I'm a believer, this stuff is great!



    It's back to normal workouts tomorrow. I think I may continue to do a circuit/bootcamp style workout once a week just to switch it up a bit and keep things interesting.

    Great work today to my Logging buddy Doc! You may be beat up after that game, but probably not half as beat up as the other team right? With the numbers you put up I think I would probably just give you the ball if you got in front of me

    and even though you won remember, sportsmanship is important

    missed this yesterday, that workout is nuts bro, weighted vest really put a hurting on you too!!


    OFF day for me today, not by choice, its killing me lol

    I'm going extra hard rest of the week not taking any more days off

    max effort lower body w/ some back thrown in and pool plyos tomorrow time to go HARD

    Thanks for the comments y'all. In answer to the question, my lunch break is around an hour and a half, but I manage to dip out 30 mins early to hit the gym most days (perks of being the boss). sometimes I end up without one at all, but such is life, especially in the military. Glad everybody liked the pics, there will of course be more...

    Nice pics to you too Doc, brings back memories of my high school days when I played. I really wish I would've worked harder at it and trained right back then. I have to say you look scary on that field bro.

    Started off with 2 scoops of my Blue Razz, tasted great as always and mixed perfectly yet again. How is it Pro-Mera managed to do what nobody else seems to know how to?

    Recovery - 10/10 - I don't think this miracle powder will ever get less, at least it would surprise me if it did.

    I say I wanted to keep going because I did. apparently EVERYBODY and their frickin brother decided today was a good day to go to the gym, and then turn it into social hour. this is one of my biggest peeves and infuriates me like no other! Don't show up at the gym in a group of 6, and then clog up the machines talking about stupid bull**** wasting everybody elses time. I could rant about this all night, but I will leave it at that.

    Legs, back, and bi's tomorrow. I'm on duty all day so I'll be able to dip out at some point to hit the weights. perhaps I'll be able to convince wifey to meet me there

    Started off with 2 scoops of my Blue Razz, tasted great as always and mixed perfectly yet again. How is it Pro-Mera managed to do what nobody else seems to know how to?

    The breakdown:

    1Barbell Incline Bench Press - Medium Grip - 135x12, 145x12, 150x10 PR
    2Butterfly - 180x10, 190x10, 195x10 PR
    3Dips - Chest Version - 50x8, 60x8 PR
    4Dumbbell Shoulder Press - 35x12, 50x12, 60x12 PR
    5Upright Barbell Row - 100x10, 110x8, 110x8
    6Front Two-Dumbbell Raise - 25x12, 30x12, 30x12 PR
    7Barbell Shrug - 190x12, 200x12, 210x10 PR
    8Cable One Arm Tricep Extension - 30x12, 35x10, 35x10
    9Standing Overhead Barbell Triceps Extension - 70x12, 70x12 PR

    Strength - 9/10 - Felt like I could've been a bit stronger, but not much
    Endurance - 10/10 - felt good today, like nothing was gonna make me tired. I wanted to keep going but more on that in a bit...
    Recovery - 10/10 - I don't think this miracle powder will ever get less, at least it would surprise me if it did.

    I say I wanted to keep going because I did. apparently EVERYBODY and their frickin brother decided today was a good day to go to the gym, and then turn it into social hour. this is one of my biggest peeves and infuriates me like no other! Don't show up at the gym in a group of 6, and then clog up the machines talking about stupid bull**** wasting everybody elses time. I could rant about this all night, but I will leave it at that.

    Legs, back, and bi's tomorrow. I'm on duty all day so I'll be able to dip out at some point to hit the weights. perhaps I'll be able to convince wifey to meet me there

    Thanks for following as always. rest up Doc and hit it hard tomorrow!

    Looking good with the PRs, looks like you could add some major weight to a lot of lifts! Also, I feel you on guys turning the gym into a chat room, go somewhere else!

    got a good looking workout ahead of me today, looking forward to hitting the iron and doing something with it. I'll have a good chunk of time in the gym today so there should be some more PR's coming my way. let's hope nothing screws it up.

    just ran some sprints with the chute but felt slow as all crap, and am not even going to count them in my log, my knees still cant drive like I need to...

    From here to the rest of the season I'm going to get my speed work done with low impact hydro plyos, and dynamic leg lifting.. I'm not doing any more sprints, or anything until the season is over, very dissapointed with how my speed is feeling right now but oh well just a fork in the road, I could have an injury and not be able to run at all so....


    from now on just hydro plyos and dynamic lower body for speed, starting with the dynamic stuff tonight, and going to hit hydro plyos next two days try to prime myself for gameday
