Your post makes sense except for the bolded, which logically doesn’t follow.

The bolded essentially states that members of the public are not allowed to question the decision of the approved.

It’s simple what ought to happen.
1. Fire the person who approved the book for being negligent of their job.
2. Remove the book from the library - after all, they’re only 2 books out of 10,000; so it’s not like they’ll be missed.
3. Make your voice known to the school board that this unacceptable and as the board is ultimately in charge of hiring, that they will be held to accountable if their hiring decisions continue to falter.

This never goes over well with this group but here it goes again, so don't get all butthurt.

A former teacher told me that..... all books get evaluated by the district board of education, so it is a case by case basis, city by city, county by county and state by state.
I wouldn't put a book like that in my kids hands but i wouldn't BURN THE BOOK like some would.
Someone approved that to be in a high school library, so it doesn't need our approval or disgust.

Again defending the right to own( where have we heard this b4?) is not tacit approval, it is simply defending the right......to own.

Here is the thing. The school board could have said "thank you for bringing this to our attention. We have thousands of books and can't screen all of them so thank you for caring about your child's academic well being. We will remove these inappropriate books and if you find anymore please let us know."
