not sure this story is true... but it's possible to go $180 to 40k back in the party poker hay days... i did $100 to 20k in 1 month back then... those days are long gone... so many people know the game now and tons of nits... =\

Huge money in it if you know the game. I have a few mates who make a living from poker, I used to do the same until I realized I either had to step it up or get a job for stability, considering a home loan was on the agenda and I wasn't making enough at poker to pay for a house right off the bat I went to work. Alot of people don't understand the money involved in HSP. Tom Dwan has days where he loses millions and it still doesn't dent his BR.

When you run up to 40k you should always withdraw at least 15 for expenses. Even a 5k bankroll will sustain a new player with solid BRM skills.

Should have stuck to your own BRM rules, slowed down and settled into the 5/10 game until you could consistantly beat it after that run. You probably won't see a heater like that again from yourself.

I still play the 1/2 for fun at the local casino but my days of playing for a living are well and truley behind me. Time to get to work OP.

i play online a little... but i play live poker like 25-35 hrs a week... usually 5/10nl

edit: and its very tough to play 5/10NL with a 100 MAX buy in... florida laws........

You don't have to. Look at all the amateurs that take down 400k+ from the big online weeklys. Play any of the sunday majors and 40k is at the bottom end of most of the prize structures.
