Just a small historical footnote: I'm pretty sure we were the first to publish a -0/+2% accuracy in our catalogs/spec sheets. This was about 1975. I'll double-check , as I could be wrong. (This is not to say, of course, that York or Jackson or any of the other great plate makers of yesteryear didn't have accurate plates).

Good luck with that world record: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...hp?t=144381911.
You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

Maybe use them for deficit deadlifts without a platform?
(Though, personally, I like using 25s for this.)▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #35

I rarely use more than a pair of 35s (I use them when I deadlift and am done adding 45s but want to add 35 then 25 as I approach my peak lift for the day), but use plenty of 45, 25, and 10s. At the price I paid, I figured I'd make it a nice even purchase of 20ea for all sizes all the way from 45 to 2.5. I figure this is my lifetime supply or close to it, may as well leave nothing out.
Come to think of it, I've never had a selection of plates like this (that are actually handy and not busy) at a commercial gym. I mean, I could start training squats again and use all 25s till the bar is full, then move to 35s, then 45s (which obviously won't just fill up as easily as the 25s and be manageable). These days, I like to do sets of 2 reps once I'm done warming up. It keeps me from slacking on form as I might for 1 rep, and it
works when I want to add smaller increases in weight so I am less likely to miss a lift. So many more options now, I'm excited to start when the gym is finished!Last edited by cturcott; 05-02-2012 at 05:15 PM.

Not much of a routine but:
Stretch
2x10 reps easy weight
1x5 reps easy weight
Ux2 reps (U meaning unlimited)
This might look like
Bench the bar just for the stretch and to let muscles warm up
Toss on 25s, bench them 10 times
Toss on 25s, bench them 10 times
Toss on 25s, bench them 5 times
Toss on 25s, bench them 2 times
(keep adding 25s for sets of 2 until it feels like work to lift it)
Then
Toss on 10s, bench them 2 times
Toss on 10s, bench them 2 times
Repeat until you approach your personal best, if you're feeling strong that day
This approach can be adjusted based on your needed poundage.
