Alright. You don’t care to watch (nor do I care to make) a 2 minute video covering the whole week. So just doing heavy days keeping under a minute. If I hit some huge ass PR on volume I’ll do separately. Trading below post

UPPER SINGLE PLY
Bench

135x5
225x3
315x3 (slingshot)
405x3 2” (LCC SK)
475x3 2”
535x3x3 3”
Barbell shrug 325x5x25
Face pull 105x5x15

Twisted sleeves. Need to get shirt broke in a little more and I know I need more weight to touch so that’s why the huge jump from 495 to 535. Forearms took a beating but I lived.

NOTES OF A MAD MAN
8 weeks out and as always I like to predict how **** will go. Main goal is just snagging that 1900 total to take the AZ state record. I missed it at the last meet on the last pull. I should be in better shape to do it this time but CrossFit gym for this meet so fwark.
Numbers are projected if I keep this training cycle on track. I only have 4 gear sessions left.
SQUAT
1st 665 2nd 720 3rd 755
Was hitting straps down 655x3x1 last session and that was after a monster 585x2 PR. So only doing single wrap reps. Last meet 690 was what I got but my form feels way better now. I don’t think getting the squat record is crazy and I don’t think I have to over reach or kill for it.
BENCH
1st 530 2nd 575 3rd 605
Hit 535x3x3 2” last session. There’s a lot going on in this lift. This is a brand new style of shirt and I have yet to take it to a touch (kid for safety hasn’t been around and need a proper belt). The opener is 2.5kg under my current record. So should get a new record here or I bombed. One of the two........
DEADLIFT
1st 595 2nd 645 3rd 675
Hit 645 already in gym. Me and training that 305kg pull should be mine this time!!
Openers = 1785
2nds = 1940
3rds = 2035
So I should be in a good place to get the total. Time to work.

Tried lower rack height with single ply. Bad idea. It takes way way to much energy and I don’t got that Blane summers width to squat so it’s really a half squat and rearacking weight is **** and blah blah blah.
I only got one rep in gear and realized I wasted the day. Instead of doing dead’s and the rest of Squat I stopped and will do it Thursday.
Fwark.

Did a mini mock meetish cause of yesterday’s bull****.
What I learned today
1) going back to smaller squat suit
2) buying a 2x4 belt immediately
3) loosening hand position on bench shirt.
The loose squat suit torso is so ****ing huge that when I go straps up the belt isn’t really on my back. Suit is just stretched out tight enough the belt feels tight but when I get in the hole there is no gear on/near the small of my back.
The shirt with max twisting just rides up and my shoulders roll forward. As opposed to good form where you flare elbows out too lock chest I can only go straight down. Plus not having a proper 2x4 for Bench isn’t allowing me to arc.
Going to be getting into gear for two weeks in a row now. Maybe just all the way out to meet.

I have zero experience with gear. How does a belt help with arc?

The belt is there to keep the shirt down/tight. But also with single play benching you need to maintain tensions in the shirt. So you set the arch and the time you’re pulling the bar down the shirt is trying to collapse your arc so you’re actively trying to not only maintain an arc, you’re trying to arch into the bar. Also when you’re fighting for that last inch you’re trying to breath in MORE! Lol
With that said the current belt I’ve been using for benching is my double prong Brahama 13mm. Don’t know if you’ve seen/used the brahmas but they are beefy ass belts. Great for maintaining a natural arc but not good for bench arch. The belt is too high where the bar will touch (illegal) or its too low where it offers me no support so shirt slips or I can’t breath into it more or arching into bar is unstable.

Going to be doing x4x8 on lower. Since gear every week I can’t kill myself with heavy weight like volume.
Bench will be 4x10
And I tried for 675 cause I failed 655 cause I messed with my set up. Got it to knees and failed. Now I’m pissed.

Reverse grip row 130x5x12
Overhead tri 70x5x15

I can get behind this x5x10 on benching. Truth is I probably will do this between my single ply and raw meet till I need to get dirty. Will be a good way to cut (I’m still cruising at 300lbs) and all that.
Until then I just like how I get a pump and even crunching workouts this week cause of holidays I can tell gear on Monday I’ll be ready.

Better today. Next week let’s see if I can crush depth. But could breath better and walked out way more than last week.
495 to 565 is way too huge a jump. I got the double and it moved. But loading up 605 and gave it a pull and realized I killed myself with that 70lb jump.
