for that station. in my dept. when there is an opening at a station they "bid" it out, and its based on position (firemedic, FF, Lt.) and then based on seniority. except for station 41 (truck company) and station 47 (special ops/hazmat) which are based off of certifications first and then seniority.

LOL! I bet.
Oldest will be 11 on Mother's Day, other son is 9, and my daughter is 4. She's starting Kindergarten this Sept, which is why it's perfect for me to go back and finally finish. All of them will be in school while I go and we would be almost on the same schedule.
Well, I wanted to go into Radiology. It's a 2 yr accredited program associates degree, but they turned me down essentially cause I don't have any clinical experience and have been out of school for so long. It's a pretty competitive program. I can either wait another year and hope to get in or choose another route. I was going to do that and then get my certification in either sonography or electrocardiography. I'm considering a medical assistant program to at least get in the medical field which is where my heart lies and work my way up from there. The one place I can get it done in 16 mo cause they have 3 semesters instead of the two.

I've got the perfect gloss for them.
That's another choice I can do. Respiratory therapy or invasive cardiovascular technology. The latter is more interesting to me, but with my bodily issues I fear that in time I may not be able to perform the duties with the precision and care I would need for such delicate procedures.
