Nice primates, I especially like your first and third pics in that list. Feel sorry for leg-day monkey
MT, they say in showbusiness, if you want it to go predictably right... " never work with children or animals" you were failing on both counts, it was never going to putting on a great show. He was well outside his element, and the school was full of kids, it was all just doomed!!!

This weekend a discussion of Cowboy Coffee came up and I told people how I did it and others told us how they did it, slight variations but all in all the same principles. For Sh!ts and grins I thought I would throw in how I do it in case anyone is unfamiliar with making it.
Cowboy coffee, it’s the old fashioned way of having coffee in the outdoors, you don’t need fancy gadgets, filters or any of that nonsense.. Just a pot, water, coffee and a heat source.
Here's how I do it
Boil water to big bubbles.. (Big Bubbles = No Troubles... It kills everything and you wont get a week long event of the sh!ts from contaminated water)
Pull water off for about 30 seconds
Add coffee grounds and stir, let sit for 2 minutes..
Stir again and let sit for 2 more minutes…
Some grounds will be on top, sprinkle a small bit of cold water on top and the grounds will sink to the bottom.
Slow pour, no grounds and great coffee.
---------------------------------------------
I am Fukked then and ok with it....
I think dogs and kids are way better than big people.
You have fond memories of your best friend, he sounded wonderful. Great story. Mixes are the best.
Your primate series is astounding.
You have a good eye for an old fartMossberg 500
I am interested in his reaction as well, if I find out, I'll post it.
Fukking heat wave here, backpacked the packraft in fishing yesterday, it was brutal, it was the roughest 7 miles I put in in a while. The Humidity coming out was insane. I admit, it was a dumb idea from the start but we had a good Mayfly hatch over the weekend and I wanted to take advantage of it and get some fly fishing in. It didn't work LMAO
I will go for a bike ride this morning then it's a/c for this old boy ha ha
Enjoy your day peeps
Time for me to make tracks..
Yak at ya's when I am older!

Lol, Mark.
Around 80F and it's way too hot for me these days. Was ofc used to it long ago when lived in FL and TX, but not anymore. It was down to 55F (13C) the other day as took a walk, and it felt perfect. Wearing a thin sweather and shorts, you didn't feel cold nor have to sweat. 16-17C (60-61F) is my favourite range these days.
My first 2 days in Vienna felt a bit uncomfortable with 27C (81F) and stickyness in the air explained by a local as being due to the danube river overflowing or something like that. Got curious to see what the humidity was like compared to at home, and to my surprise they measured about the same. Then got introduced to the metric of dew point instead of humidity and think this explained why it was uncomfortable, and the dew point in Vienna was 17 C or so, apparently when it starts feeling bad. Never heard of it before.
https://www.weather.gov/arx/why_dewp...e%20gas%20form.
"The higher the dew point rises, the greater the amount of moisture in the air. This directly affects how "comfortable" it will feel outside. Many times, relative humidity can be misleading....." Etc etc, don't understand it all at first glance, but perhaps makes sense.

There was a plumbing problem at one of my rental apartments. The tenants have 2 pit bulls. I was petting one and the 2nd bit my arm. His canine teeth are about 5 inches apart judging by the 2 skin bumps on my arm.
I don't mind it. The whole company has rented out the whole apartment complex. They will be there 2 more months or 5 more years if their bid on a job gets accepted.Fuihe renl hes in ffevil anas fo raving woks

These places are like an AirBnb for traveling workers. The workers don't pay the rent. Their company does. The companies client has the cost of labor, food and rent built into the compensation. 2 soybean processing plants, a renewable fuel refinery, another bio jet fuel refinery, an animal food plant and a railroad depot are what is getting built.

Sorry about the bite Paul.... Hope it doesn't give you issues.
I have had a few pit incidents, luckily none resulted in a bite, the last one was in town, I was jogging and this pit was across the road up the street 50 yards or so on the front lawn.
It saw me as soon as I saw it and the fukker charged, there was a truck coming by and it ran in front of the truck, I think that was the only thing that saved me because he was barrelling down on me fast and it wasn't a happy visit.
He won't charge anyone else the truck took care of that. The guy in the truck felt bad, I said dude it was either the dog or me, I am glad you hit the fukker. The owner was an old lady, she came out crying, apparently the dog always had to be fenced because she was too old to walk it and it was vicious towards everyone except her.
They can be good dogs until they aren't and all hell breaks loose. That's a lot of k9 to be dealing with.
Not much new here, still hot and humid, watersports were on the menu..
Heal fast Paul

Build some more houses or townhomes. Perfect opportunity.
MT, I have a feeling you have been chase by about every animal there ever was
Fine photos, steffi. We have lots of Snowy Egrits/Herons and Great Blue Herons here. Other water birds here are Kildeer, Great Blue Herons, Snowy Egrits (Herons), Kingfishers and all kind of ducks. Florida has more. Sometimes I see a Pelican, but rarely since I'm about 100+ miles from the coast. Very rare, though.Last edited by Mark1T; 06-19-2024 at 01:51 PM.

Some awesome entrees peeps....
Steffo we have the double crested cormorant here, looks similar to the one you posted. They can put a hurt on the fish population. Also their sh!t is very acidic and will destroy all vegetation. You will see islands that they inhabit are totally void of vegetation and pretty much a bald rock. They used to use DDT to control the populations but that has been banned. People are now allowed to shoot 15 a day during the fall to control the populations.

We have a very similar bird here, but only in the Fall and Winter and early Spring. We call them Water Turkeys. But, really Cormorant.
Yes, they do eat a lot of fish. I haven't seen as many this year. I have seen as many as 100+ on the lake, so I get my 12 gauge and blast a couple rounds to spook them.
This is amazing. Sound on.

Happy First day of summer Fukkers
My friend and I share the same birthday. For years we have exchanged gifts, and they have been mostly lures. Rules are, you have until next year to catch a fish on it or you have to buy the other one supper. If we both catch fish, deals off. Last year she caught a fish on hers pretty quick. This is what she bought for me..
Have you ever seen anything more Gay than that? I used it a bit last year nothing, I even left the barb on (I always fish barbless) because if something hits it, I don't want to lose it. I haven't used it a lot but time is running out and with this heat wave I may have to buy supper. ha ha...
Time for me to make tracks...
Gotta head out before it gets too hot, yesterday I saw a Robin blow on a worm before eating it.
Have a great day Fukkers...

I am careful not to break it out if anyone is in eyeshot..
I'd settle for a queer fish right about now... Great day on the water but no fish on that particular lure...
Hope my friend likes McDonalds cuz that's what she's getting after giving me that flaming lure.
Have a great evening peeps...Last edited by mtpockets; 06-20-2024 at 03:35 PM.
