Where else will I be able to talk to such a great community of friends of similar interest?

I'm not taking this lightly at all. It may be just a forum for some, but to me it's a pick me up. It helps me get some stress out of my system. It also gets me quality info other than bs ads that are mostly scams.

Any clue when this is suppose to happen or rather when they shut down the site and forums? Where to next? I honestly don't know of any better forum.

I wonder if there's also a decline in people actually working out, going to the gym, which in turn has lead to a decline in supplement purchases?

Heck no, if anything it's only growing. As for the traditional "Mass Monsters" (as I grew up trying to be) I think some of that may be a thing of the past, but general fitness is way up. Millennials like to go to the gym with their friends, significant other, scout out the opposite sex (if they are single), crossfit, Tough Mudder races, etc. if anything are only getting bigger and bigger.

This. Crossfit and Tough Mudder has caused a major boom in weight training.

They are also the main things that have destroyed the stigma among women that they shouldnt lift.

I don't think there is less exercise going on! Definitely not. However, I do sense a generally feeling that folks are growing less eager to buy and use supplements. Part of it is the regular media narrative about the dangers of supplements, part is that the population is growing more aware of the legitimate research on supplements and how unimpressive the results are for most active ingredients, and part of it is the social media/internet algorithms seem to have changed a bit, affecting traffic.

It also seems like that there has been some consolidation of supplement companies, reducing competition. From my perspective, it seems the marketing efforts have declined, product innovation has slowed, and pricing is static or even less competitive.

Again this is just my entirely subjective perspective. I haven't looked at the data and if it supports or refutes these observations.

Forums ran It's course, time to move on to other formats... the golden days won't come back. BB.com isn't going down, if anything they'll change hands, competition getting fierce.

Don't forget how fanboyism and focus on the things that don't really matter helped kill this part of the forum?

Exactly. Everyone and their cats are coming out with supp companies. Heck at this rate, us daily posters here could drop a supplement company and compete.

And IMO, people are certainly buying more supplements now than before IMO, just not here.

Very possible. Maybe I was just biased by HiTech and Nutrabolt's activity.

Should be some college student's econometrics project to figure out.

In all truth, I sought that out with a couple people here. Dead ****ing serious. Decided against it, not a market worth entering currently.

Saw the thread at 3 pages long. This is a lot to get through, so all I'm gonna say is: gross revenue isn't the same as net revenue, and they've had a lot of misses over the last few years. $70 mill may look like a lot at face value, but we don't know the companies operating costs. I hope it stays a float, just for these forums. Lot's of awesome people on these boards, and a great source of information if you know who to ask/listen to, and who to avoid.

I've considered it with someone from the boards as well. Minds think alike. Still may get into something though.

Selling ad space on the forums and a terrible mobile app also drives users away. I know I'm not the only one who 'requests desktop site' on the phone. Population in my subscribed threads has been declining noticeably. I also used to be a BodySpace regular, until they made that unusable as well.

Forgot this one, not sure how I did that considering it's in your face constantly. This should have been on my list as well.
