Why couldn't this be left up to us, the members? You should have done a public poll and asked us yes/no on the section. This won't bring integrity to the rep system, people will still rep their friends.

This is so ****ing stupid.... the misc is slowly starting to suck. How are people supposed to improve their reps by a substantial degree without joining an e-clan or juggling the balls of a mod in our mouths?
Integrity of reps?
For fuks sake

You know before being modded I built over 290K reps by posting quality advice and engaging other members in helping them find their way through their own concerns.
So you'll find very little sympathy from me on the subject of "I can't build my reps other than rep betting."6'4"

While it may suck for the people who loved rep betting, it will change one thing for the better: Instead of blowing each day's reps on those whom they lost to in their bets, maybe they'll instead go to the users who actually make good (helpful or funny) posts in the other sections.

Now that rep system abuse is official vice. Can someone explain how did Localfoot get about 10k reps in one day? It isn't possible by rep betting. That happened with a little help from dem mods/admins, didn't? So, mods/admins were abusing the rep system by train repping her or something. Strong hypocrites

I literally had like 80 reps owed to me. I've always tried hard to pay people their reps when I lost and I considered the section really fun because the MISC was starting to get really boring. I venture other sections of this forum of course, but again, Rep Betting was one of the only fun things left here

Wrong....Rep betting was not against the rules. Underground rep trading was!
Rep betting was an approved organized forum which was abused by a few idiots that have ruined it for the rest.
I understand why administration took this step but don't make it look like those who participated did anything against bb.com rules.
While that forum was there any reps that were made were done legally at that time, period.

None of this matters anymore.
The Mods are in full damage control now. They are anticipating the backlash and have come prepared.
So far it has mostly been thread locks, but some want to push the issue to negs and bans. They are only hurting themselves.
I am in favor of having a rep bet section, but it is obvious we do not have that right to decide like we did last year when they asked members if we would like to have a sub section for just that reason as it was cluttering the actual sports section.
That is what I am more disappointed in, not being asked what could be done to improve it or at least have a vote to keep it or abolish it. Either way, it was only in existence for a year and it will soon be forgotten.Blood......Sweat........RESPECT!!!!!

I agreed. Personally I have been addicted to gambling even in real life. And the rep bet thread is doing a good thing for me because instead of gambling my money away, I can just rep bets. This does not hurt me financially or anyone else on the forum. And its a fun way and added more excitement in watching the games.
I too am very disappointing in the decision made by bb.com. Like the poster said above, there should be a voting or discussion about it. Perhaps finding solution to improves the system and not just took it away without giving the bb.com members a chance to voice their opinions. If motivation comes in a liquid form, it would be dripping off my fingers tips.

Im usually in the supplement section, reviewing products and helping members there and never get repped. If I do its usually by guys with like 4 rep power, cuz those are the people some of us there really help.
Except my recent mod rep, the majority of the time Id get randomly negged from guys with 1k+ rep power for no reason at all. No comment, just negged cuz they know I couldnt dent them. You cant travel into the misc or sports section without getting negged for your honest opinion 3/4 of the time. Its a total joke.
If your not in a ****get E-crew, reps are hard to come by. They just rep trade all day long, its rediculous. If your gona get rid of rep betting, make "crews" bannable offenses especially the "sea" threads and eliminate the sh!tty rep system. This site would be so much better, its unreal.Benes

I've said this before: Reps are like money, in that the more you have here, the easier it is to get more. I rarely ever get repped when I try to give advice, most of my reps come randomly or from when i post pics/gifs.
