it's too late brah. you can't decide to bring back religion like that. it's collapsing. our future descendants will regard us like we do with tribal religions today.

Like I said, religion isn't the answer, but it isn't the problem, Human nature is the problem.
If EVERYBODY was religious and righteous, the world wouldn't have problems.
If EVERYBODY was atheist and righteous, the world wouldn't have problems.
The problem is, if you can gain power, there will ALWAYS be someone who will absolutely take advantage of somebody else, to gain POWER.
I'm not saying force equality, or force tolerance, or force anything. I'm saying, the problem cannot be fixed, and most likely will never happen. If you can force people to have equality, tolerance, or anything, there is ALREADY an unbalance, because someone can FORCE you to do something.
Human nature, morality, and righteousness... it's a paradox.I love MissChill with every fiber of my being... and every morsel of my soul.

Lol. Most great scientists were religious. It's a shame you guys learn almost nothing about history or you'd know about the great advances in science brought about by the muslims.
Double lol @ smarter populace. The same enlightened *******s claiming to be atheists are the same *******s too scared to recite bloody mary 3 times in front of a mirror. Such superstition, much intelligence
Dumb people will be dumb regardless of religion. Except religion will at least give them a moral compass

Athiest here. I think religion helps hold society together TBH. If everyone was athiest, we'd probably be chittier to eachother and not nearly as unified.

Are you *******s srs? Every ******* thug I've seen believes in god, they act as if they accept jesus they can do what they want. Religion has nothing to do with morals and it's highly likely that people will care more about this life when they realize there's no after life and this is our only chance.

As a non religious person, I'd like to see the outcome of a relatively unreligious world before deciding that its a worse place to be in.

LOL, Einstein certainly wasn't religious nor are most scientists today. Newton is the only scientist the equal of Einstein. He was a Christian but he also lived during a time when nobody knew chit.

I could say that i partly agree with what OP is saying. Personally, without the notion of being religious, i myself would admit to possibly being a worse person. I could also guarantee that for a lot of my friends that are religious as well. I honestly don't see why people have such a butthurt urge to bash on other people's religious beliefs. It really serves as a strong moral compass that has led me to essentially think of others before myself, honor and respect the people i know, hold judgement, and also fire my urge to help others through charitable actions. Without my religious beliefs, quite frankly, none of those would matter to me as much if at all. From a non-biased perspective, the notion of a world without religion essentially means a world without purpose.. which many could not begin to handle. It's funny though, as much as atheists bask in their intellectual "superiority", i feel that deep down they really are clueless beings that really are nervous/bitter at the fact that someone claims they have "figured it out".
That is just my 2 cents.

Sure most great historical scientists were religious, until science gave us a better understanding of the world than religion could ever hope to. Post 1900's or so, vast majority of physicists/biologists etc are non religious.
Triple lol @ your stupidity. Study after study has shown there is an inverse relationship between IQ/education level and religiosity. No one is afraid to say bloody mary or whatever hokus pokus nonsense - they'd just feel ridiculous doing so...
The problem with claiming that the bible/Christianity is the source of your morality, is that it's fraught with contradiction. For example, the bible condones slavery, commands you to kill heretics, and claims homosexuals are abominations, and a host of other plainly immoral tenets.
Now there are also a host of good ones, such as the golden rule (which was predated by Confucius and some rabbi BTW). The thing is, you don't follow the wicked ones - if your morality was truly derived from the bible, you wouldn't know to not own slaves or to not kill the heretic.
You're cherry picking the good moral tenets out of the bible, and the moral faculty which allows you to cherry pick is derived from something that's not religion (most would say it's evolutionary instinct), otherwise you'd literally follow everything in the Bible because you simply wouldn't know better. Fortunately you do
