so uhh, the season is looking almost over for these dudes after three games. Look at the schedule. they could easily lose 3 out of the next 4 and not even make the playoffs. what an absolute meltdown. Wilks has to go. I'm a HUGE Shanahan fan but he needs to be held accountable for this mess....I'd give him one more year after this but this is a freaking mess and it looks like he's cursed here. reminds me of Andy Reid in Philly.

I'm not sure what is going on but this bye week will be crucial. Defense is the most concerning for me. I know Brock has turned the ball over but i think once Trent and Deebo get back the offense will look better. Defense has all its players and still looks like poop.

There are literally zero highlights, only lowlights. We misfired on all cylinders. This team doesn't look good anymore. Coaching is terrible. Defense can't stop a sneeze and offense is putrid. It's the same play over and over and majority of its to McCaffrey. Oh and let's not forget the OL can't pass block worth a damn. Pretty sure Purdy got another concussion last night when he smacked the back of his head but they didn't even bother to check him. He threw the int right after that.

Saying there were zero highlights isn't right. Brock had some really good plays out there unfortunately his bad plays came at the worst time and overshadow the great plays.
Honestly I don't know what's up with the team. The talent is there, even without Deebo or Trent we shouldn't be dropping 3 games in a row. Now I knew the Bengals would be a problem as soon as I saw the schedule come out. It also helped them that they got a bye before the game as we came off a Monday Night game. NFL doing us 0 favors this year in terms of rest advantage. Hell after our Bye week we go to Jacksonville...who are also coming off a bye week so even after our bye we don't get a rest advantage cuz we have to fly across the country to play and the other team had a bye as well.
Still...that's just a lame excuse. Cleveland and Minnesota games should've been wins. Cleveland despite all the mistakes we still had a makeable FG attempt that we missed.
Vikings just dumb plays, unlucky bounces and bad turnovers. Bengals just came out and beat our ass. Burrow was unstoppable. You just tip your hat to the man and move on.
Question is...what team comes back from the bye week? I don't know if we make any trades because honestly outside of a top corner(who may still take time to adjust to our team/defense) I don't see anyone coming in and really making a huge impact. The studs we have are just not playing up to their talent level. Bosa, Hargrave, Greenlaw, Hufanga, Ward and even Warner this last game are off. That is my biggest concern.
I believe Brock will figure out the turnover thing and get it fixed. I think our OL will step up, especially with Trent coming back and the running game will pick up again. But defense...Kyle and Wilks better figure out what the issue is QUICKLY.
Jags are a really good team and Lawerence can make all the throws and is mobile. Cannot drop to 5-4. The stretch of games coming up weeks 12-14 is going to make or break this season so we better get our **** together.

Brock also looks great during long stretches of the game. When the defense knows its a pass that is where he seems to struggle. Also I'm not convinced it might be Kyles offensive scheme. He wants QBs to throw in tight windows but that only works when they fear the run. If they are dropping 7 guys into coverage those windows become a lot smaller.
Have to be patient bc this is only like his 12th game.LOL @ people who follow politics

Chase Young for a 3rd is a great pickup imo.
Losing three in a row has been frustrating to watch. More annoyed with the defense the last two games than the offense (missing Trent and Deebo) who looked much worse in Cleveland, but that was on the road, bad weather, and against a solid defense off a bye, and with two horrible calls against us late in the game. Even then it took two missed kicks and some untimely turnovers for us to lose that one. Minnesota and Cincy Purdy made some great throws and the offense moved the ball but both games we didn't get the run game going and also had untimely turnovers, not to mention the play before half in Minnesota. Team has been close in all three losses and that was playing poorly imo.
There is some disconnect with the defense because I don't get how they can't rush the QB, stop the run, tackle, cover anyone, or get off the field. That just ain't right. They put it together for a couple nice stops and turnovers last three games but nowhere near what they should be doing consistently. They need to sort it out over the bye.
Offensively I think they will get back to scoring more, I wish we would run some more with Mason though. I think Shanny trusts Brock more with the passing game but then the run game get's put aside a bit imo. We don't look like we're sticking to the physical identity on offense right now. If Trent and Deebo are out it's not time for the Ferrari offense. Use Kittle more on pass plays, run the ball and chew clock. Plus he focuses on using CMC so much it's overdone at times. I don't think they've really been bad offensively last few games, but the costly turnovers a couple untimely penalties and Moody missing some kicks has been negating results of numerous good plays. Also stop tryna run Juice up the middle on short yardage it's way too predictable. Save that for a random second down here and there.
In reality I think the bye is coming at a great time, before the schedule gets tougher. If we had this bye in like four weeks we'd prolly lose the next 4 in a row. I think the team gassed a little bit with the hot start and the Dallas game. They knew they needed a hot start, did it, but then it cost them some mistakes here and there with the last few games. Throw in some injuries and I think the team needs a reset. I wish they wouldn't have lost three in a row but they have been worse record wise in the past and done well to finish the season. One guy I think really needs the bye is Greenlaw. He was a maniac early in the season but last few weeks looks like he's been toughing out numerous bang ups.
They need to have a sitdown with Wilks, sort out the defense and then just stop turning it over on offense and we should be fine. Schedule gets tough but they can't make any excuses. Team has the talent to get it done. We'll know in Jax whichever team shows up will likely set the tone for the rest of the season and hopefully it's the 5-0 niners not the 0-3 niners. The schedule has been tough with CLE and CIN off byes and then not getting that advantage against a solid Jags team but imo they can't afford to lose the next one more from a mental standpoint than a record one. Even if they do they can still be alright long term but it won't be easy. A road win off the bye should help to build some confidence back up so let's hope they can get right and get the W.San Francisco 49ers

After hating him back in the day the guy I've grown to really enjoy listening to is Kurt Warner.
His breakdowns are really interesting because he speaks to his preferences as a QB and he had a nice breakdown of the 2nd Purdy pick from Sunday. We know the first one he simply f'd up. That is a pick I'm sure he won't keep repeating.
The 2nd pick however is kind of 49ers bread and butter and you don't wan to see Brock throwing that type of pick because that will come up again and again but Warner showed on that play the design didn't help Brock so it's something Kyle can work on as well.
Basically we didn't show enough for the defense to open up a bigger window and they made a great play to get into the lane and get the pick.
I still trust Brock. He's made too many good and even elite plays to think he's another Jimmy G. Perhaps the answer is for the time being to cut down on the big play attempts to cut down on turnovers and see how we can do playing it more "safe"

I'd love to have Sherman come in and coach for us. Guy is great. It's not going to happen this year though.
Wilks better have gotten it together during the bye week because the Jags are a real big test and Lawrence is a very good QB. We have to win this game and make a big run here and getting the defense back on track is an absolute must as we head into the gauntlet of games in a few weeks vs Seattle x2 and Eagles. Then we get the Ravens week 16 of the season which may end up being our toughest test this regular season outside of the Eagles cuz every NFC team they've played so far they've crushed. Hopefully we get a bit of a break that they're coming to SF for this one after playing Lions and Seahawks at home.
Excited and nervous for the Jags game. It's a good test for us as they're well rounded. We get to see how the offense and defense look post bye.
Also curious to see what we do with our young players coming back off injury - Luter, Samuel and Beal. Hard to know what if anything to expect from them but sometimes the excitement of the unknown is nice. I heard good things about Luter before his injury and I liked where Samuel was heading(tho wish he'd do a better job at slot corner) right now that's our weak link outside of Wilks - secondary play.
Gotta lock it down somehow and have the coaching and players step up.
Let's see which team shows up. Week 1-5 or the week 6-8 disaster. Deebo and Trent should be back tho now Aaron Banks is out a few games so it's not a full rebound on offense and we're obviously adding a talented player in Chase Young on defense. No excuses left. Get it done.

Honestly I think post surgical Brock 2.0 is actually better...just not the 4th quarter turnover Brock version.
I love the anticipation he's been throwing with this year and I really think the injury play was why he's improved on that. Had he thrown that ball to Aiyuk vs Eagles with anticipation it's a huge play and totally different ball game.
But overall the team has to also play better so Brock doesn't feel the need to force things late in the game. We've seen how much better he is playing with a lead so let's get back to holding a big lead

This is a do or die week. We’ve had a bye to get healthy, they absolutely need to go out there and smash the Jags and make a statement
ETN needs to be held to sub 100 yards
Secondary needs to improve
We need to get home on Trevor
Brock can’t turn the ball over
Hoping for a convincing two score win on Sunday

I'll just take a win. I think expecting a two score win in this one is asking a lot. Jags are a very good and well rounded team and their defense has been playing very well and very sound. East coast road game and it seems like we may not have Trent Williams out there either.
That gives us two backups on the left side of the line to go with a right side that has been shaky all year. We better hope the defense figures out their sh*t in this one because we're not setup to win a shootout.

Obviously we just need a win but I really don't feel the Jags are as great as their record shows. Two of those wins were in London where they're basically a home team and always do well. The last two weeks they barely got home vs the Saints and Steelers. I think if we are the team we think we are, the team that blew out the Cowboys and should be able to take it to the Eagles, I want to see a convincing win. That'll convince me that we are not pretenders, and that Brock has the grit to bounce back and shut out the haters
We've been allowing far too much on defense. I'm hoping the addition to the pass rush helps us get home but yeah we really need to see the defense back in form to have a chance at being contenders

Jags are at home, off a bye as well and don't have to travel. They're solid record dates back to last season if you expand the timeline. That said I do want a convincing win but I would not at all be surprised if its a close game. Definitely want to see a bounce back performance to set the tone for the second half of season.

Now we gotta keep it going and not buy the hype coming our way again after this win.
Last time we did that it didn't go well. Looks like the team got some energy back and addition of Chase definitely helped. Can't overlook Tampa Bay and look ahead to the Seahawks, Eagles, Seahawks stretch of games.
#1 seed is still possible though we'll need some help and don't control our own destiny with that anymore. Need to make another run but staying healthy is key. Clearly when our squad is healthy we can hang with anyone and more.
As good as we played there were still a lot of mistakes hurting ourselves and clearly no matter who or where we play the refs will not help us so we have to eliminate any room for error.
