Seriously? The early UFC’s when it truly was discipline vs discipline showed it quite handily. With how mma has evolved the last two decades, you can’t use it as a current example. Every top fighter is skilled and versed in striking and grappling now. Specialists who don’t have complete games get their weaknesses exploited and exposed. That’s the nature of high level competition of any kind.
Will also admit that early days of the UFC also showed in general just how lost a striking martial art is once it hits the mat, where as grappling based martial arts still have a stand up component of distance control to set up takedowns. When it comes to weakness vs weakness, striking loses.
