Yes, but I heard it was easier than the Souls games (which aren't even hard in the first place). It's made by the same developers of Ninja Gaiden, which was pretty difficult.

Buy games that tend to last 60+ hours, or have multiplayer that allows you to play far past the initial single player experience.

Multiplayer makes sense, but 60+ hour games tend to be filled with tedious fetch quests. I don't really understand why companies brag about how insanely huge their game world is, or how long it is, when half of the game is repetitive as hell. Ubisoft is the biggest perpetrator of that ****. To each his own, though.

There's instances of the world being badass enough for the 60+ hours to all be great though

Skyrim, Witcher, Dragon Age Origins, Soulsborne games, (etc...). Yes you have those games where it's drawn out BS (like all ubisoft games except for GOAT AC: Black Flag) but thats not every case.

it's actually a new IP by team ninja (devs behind ninja gaiden) set in a fictionalized version of the sengoku period

it plays similar to dark souls/bloodborne to an extent (a lot faster) but it has skills/moves you can spec into (so it's kind of a mix between a souls game and a character action game like DMC/Bayo/Ninja Gaiden -- there's some dope ass moves you can pull off once you've learned enough stuff)

there's also tons of loot. there's armor (head, torso, arm guards, leg guards, foot guards), 5 main weapon types (sword, dual sword, spear, axe, kusarigama) and accessories that give you buffs/perks.

it's just a dope game from what ive played so far and i can see myself putting hundreds of hours into this. especially with the depth of customization. i highly recommend grabbing this srs

(haven't tried multiplayer yet but from what i've read you can't get invaded and you can only get random coop partners or some chiiet like that. i think i also read they're planning on adding some sort of pvp so hopefully that pans out)

Anyone knowledgeable about the game and can help with my build? Going for a spear build, I got my spirit up to 12 because some dude said at 12 is when you unlock all your guardian's abilities, and then the rest of my points I've just been dumping into Body. Should I put a point or two into Strength and Stamina to open up what kind of gear I can wear. Also, I'm like level 16 and right now gear is only calling for like 6 STR or STAM, at level 40 will it be calling for like 10 STR/STAM or does it just stay at a low number?

Got up to lvl 21.

Rolling dual sword and it's fun as fuk. It's pretty hard but not bad enough that you feel like you don't have hope.

Went to gamestop and dude said every one in Kansas City was sold out. Tried Best Buy and no games. Finally hit up a target in the boonies and they has 2 copies left.

In. I think I am lvl 13 now. Probably going to build around a sword with a spear or other long reach weapon. May end up respecing to full tank axe build to see how it works. 10k to respect at first and then it increases in price. Fun combat system.

It does kind of have that aesthetic. But action mode on PS4 pro is 1080 locked 60 fps so it plays really well. I'd definitely recommend since you like the soulsborne games

i'll probably pick it up on sale at some point. if i play a souls game i want it to be a souls game. something about it just seems off to me.

Yeah, Automata looks interesting, but from what I have read, will only take 25 hours to complete.... Not paying full price for that.

Bf1/Witcher 3 are good examples of that.

Hold off 12 months and you get:

-Bugs fixed
-DLC included in GOTY edition
-inevitable 50% off sale

Only multiplayer games are worth buying day 1 IMO.

Hell no. The last game I bought at launch was AC:Unity. I actually loved the game and didn't experience any glitches whatsoever on PS4, but the fiasco still turned me off from day 1 buying forever. Plus, things go on sale quick af nowadays so it's pointless imo.
