The last one was actual caused by a spike in oil prices. High oil prices drove up energy and transportation costs for subprime lending customers who were already living on the edge of financially. As a result they could no longer pay all their notes which resulted in short falls through the entire system. You can see in the graph post above the point of the collapse correlates with the gas price jump.

As usual, Ecto still can't explain why he believes Obama is responsible for global events, when his own cited articles don't say anything about Obama or the US President....
Why do you keep posting about US politics and government, when you have no understanding of US politics and government?
And if he does hold this magical control, why's he been f*cking over the country with high gas prices for most of his administration?

The only obvious thing is that you're completely incapable of supporting your bizarre claims about what you think the US President has control over.
BRB, let's pretend the US President controls...
- State gas taxes
- Refinery production rates
- Global oil production
- Global industrial capacity
But with all this fictional control, Ecto can't explain why Obama chose to f*ck the country for the first six years of his administration...
We're supposed to "thank Obama" for being a politically opportunistic scumbag, who was too dumb to even lower gas prices before his own midterm election?Last edited by nutsy54; 12-21-2015 at 03:30 PM.

You say Obama has no control over world oil prices? What about the Iran deal?
The Iranians have the potential to pump 6 million+ barrels a day.

And when your OP claims fall apart, just try changing the subject to a ridiculous, false description about a thread on a different subject, which has been endlessly answered
Why does supporting Obama require so much deflection & deception?
Still waiting for you to answer direct, on-topic questions regarding your complete ignorance of US politics and government.

Gonna be an interesting year indeed. OPEC is doing its best to push US shale out of business. So far, it's only yielded slightly positive results (if you're OPEC), but i anticipate a further reduction of shale output of 800,000bpd in 2016 since they're bleeding badly. Iran's oil coming into the market will actually help OPEC in their battle against shale, but if they were to succeed then of course Iran would turn into a competitor for supply.

lol I remember when Republican's favorite pastime was blaming Obama for every slight upward move in gas prices. Fox news went into overdrive and a good chunk of the GOP 2012 primary revolved around this very issue.
Fast forward to today and the new talking point is....."Obama has NOTHING to do with gas prices".
Then? "Obama will destroy the economy" Today? "Obama has NOTHING to do with the economic recovery"
Then? "Obama is reckless for threatening Pakistan" Today? "Obama had NOTHING to do with killing bin laden"
I could go on and on. LMFAO
..and always so fuking angry. It eats them up inside.

The same thing happened to gas prices just before the end of the last administration. Starting in the Summer of '08, prices plummeted, reaching their low point days before the inauguration. Needless to say, when prices went back up Obama's detractors were quick to point out how cheap gas was on the day he took office in an attempt to create a false correlation.
