- 1 x 10 - 22.0 lbs
- 1 x 12 - 22.0 lbs
- 1 x 12 - 22.0 lbs
- 1 x 12 - 22.0 lbs
Was happy I was able to do these given the DOMS, but I'm finding them difficult at this weight with my left leg. Right leg has no issues and can push thru the reps easy. Left leg...I find it much harder to balance, to push thru and I can't seem to find a comfortable position for my right foot on the bench. I'm actually bruising the top of my foot with these. But they do still feel good. Gonna stick with this weight until my left leg catches up a bit and then move onto the goblet squat position with the 25 lb DB.

Went up in weight. Last set was hard cause I didn't leave enough rest.
Total Chin Ups: 169
Notes:
Still had bad DOMS, but not bad enough to keep me from doing more Bulgarian Split Squats. I do like these, but can really see how big of a difference there is between the strength in my left versus my right leg. Complete day and night with this currently weight. Right leg goes like a champ...left leg struggles. A lot of that may be to do with not being able to get a good setup cause of the top of my foot being bruised quite a bit...but hoping that I can figure out a way to get these to be more comfortable cause until then it is really going to be harder to increase the weight.
Also my back/shoulder area was really acting up during the workout. It didn't care for the chin ups and certainly didn't like the somersault squats. Was actually glad when the workout was over so my back could finally relax. Will be foam rolling a bit tonight. Getting closer to my goal...less than 400 more chin ups to go. I just want them done. LOL
Aawwwwwwww yeah! New log!
Amazing work, Artemis!! Bulgarian Split Squat can be brutal. Great stuff!

Goal Accomplished - 10K pull ups in 2015 !!!
Notes:
Well was too tired to go to grappling plus wasn't sure it would be a good idea with the way my shoulder blade is feeling. So got in a nap after I got home from work. Was debating about going to the gym. Figured I would hit Back today...but then decided that I was going to stay home and finally get these damn pull ups done. So I hammered out the last 360 pulls ups over the course of 2 hours at home. Obviously some rest periods between sets were longer thus getting in more reps versus others...but so glad I'm finally finished with these. Definitely will take a week off from them...don't know if I'll take the rest of the month off too.

Awe thanks
Actually I have a 10 lb chain, ankle weights, weighted vest and a chain belt that I have used in the past with doing chin ups. Honestly don't really remember what my max is with weight...I've been focusing too much recently with trying to hit my 10K goal for the year so went with the basics so I could get in the most reps. Personally I prefer doing variations...commando, climbers, mixed grip, slow controlled reps, clapping, step ups...but I've been a bit limited cause I have a forearm strain that is taking forever to heal...so it bugs me depending on my grip.
I thought I already earned the Bruce Lee stamp of approval when I was able to do full ROM dragon flag reps . They are one of my favorite body weight exercise.
FYI...message sent. Sorry, I'm long winded.

Ah, nice, it's mind blowing that you can do all those pull up variations, you're in the top 1%, for men and women, pull up-wise. Another fun variation to do are Archer Pull ups, Typewriters, and ofc the one-arm chin up but with your forearm strain I'd stay away from that last one.
Weighted probably won't help you towards that 10k goal so i can see why you'd drop it.
Hopefully your forearm strain gets better, I've had a bicep one from rock climbing too much and it really takes the fun out of pull ups.
Now you're just showing off

I try so hard to keep my floor clean. We just dropped 9k on hard wood this last spring. That covered 3/4s of my house. I hate seeing it really dirty. After last week there were foot prints on top of footprints, plus areas where someone spilled something, animal foot prints ect... The floor alone took me over an hours to clean, and it is still not entirely clean. I know I get carried away because I have kids and they will make a mess out of everything but I try to keep the house somewhat clean.

Thanks. Getting my first chin up was a huge turning point in my life in regards to working out. Seeing all that work manifest in being able to do something I never thought in a million years I would be able to do...well I was hooked. And I've always put a really strong focus on them even though I do work on other things / goals.
I'm hoping to play around with those type of pull ups as well as soon as the forearm is 100%. Right now as long as I keep a chin up grip, my forearm can handle it. Actually I've even been able to do the one arm wrist assisted chin ups (where you wrap your extra hand around your wrist to help) with out it bothering the forearm too bad. But when I moved my assisting hand down lower on the forearm...I must have gripped it too hard and it bothered a different part of my forearm. Fortunately that healed up quick.
Guilty as charged
Thanks . I'm so glad it is finally over. LOL

I can certainly understand that. I'm a bit anal when it comes to getting something new and trying to keep it looking like new. I got some tile floors a while ago and felt the same way...wanting to keep them clean...hated when there was a footprint...or worse, dog foot prints everywhere. I was considering at some point resurfacing the hard wood floors in my house...but with the dogs, just didn't seem worth it. And to be honest, it was less the dogs and more my ex at the time. Dogs are stupid and don't know better when they are ruining the floors. But my ex would do stuff like leave soaking wet shoes on the floor or try to clean the floors with something that would damage the finish. Just not worth driving me insane
Time to rent one of these

Friday
Bench / Triceps / Legs
Bench Press
- 1 x 12 - 45.0 lbs
- 1 x 02 - 85.0 lbs
- 1 x 02 - 115.0 lbs
- 1 x 01 - 125.0 lbs
- 1 x 01 - 130.0 lbs
- 1 x 01 - 135.0 lbs
This felt much better than on last Sunday. Still need to get that descent to speed up. May play around with that again next Chest day.
Close Grip Bench Press
- 1 x 05 - 95.0 lbs
- 1 x 01 - 105.0 lbs
- 1 x 01 - 115.0 lbs
- 1 x 01 - 120.0 lbs
- 1 x 01 - 125.0 lbs
Pressed 125 lbs again without an issue. Felt great. Next week I think I'll play around with multiple reps. Want to see how many reps I can do at 120 lbs.
Reverse Close Grip Bench Press
- 1 x 12 - 90.0 lbs
- 1 x 12 - 90.0 lbs
- 1 x 12 - 90.0 lbs
- 1 x 12 - 90.0 lbs
- 1 x 10 - 90.0 lbs
Was hoping to get all sets with 12 reps so I could go up in weight. But really couldn't get the last one. Will have to keep working at this weight
Hinge Push Ups
- 1 x 12
- 1 x 12
- 1 x 12
- 1 x 12
- 1 x 12
Was playing around with the speed with these.
Bulgarian Split Squats
- 1 x 12 - 22.0 lbs
- 1 x 12 - 22.0 lbs
- 1 x 10 - 25.0 lbs
- 1 x 12 - 25.0 lbs
- 1 x 12 - 27.5 lbs
Was able to up the weight and hit the reps so technique is improving. The new pad I had really helped since it was larger and I didn't have to focus as much on depth or location of the pad in relation to my knee. The last set was a struggle to get the 12 reps with the left foot...but was easy for the right.
Notes:
Wanted to do more legs but it was already after 8 PM and I was at the gym for 2 hours at that point. I never realize how long it takes for me to do both the bench and CGBM given the time I take resting. I doesn't seem like much...but definitely adds onto the time. But wanted to get home and get some things done plus try go get to bed a bit early cause I didn't sleep well the last two nights.
Won't be working out the next two days...although doesn't mean I won't be doing some lifting in a sense. Will be heading out early tomorrow morning to help out with Christmas Carnage. Tomorrow is going to be the long day and then Sunday will be the heavy lifting day helping them pack. Last year I had to leave early on Saturday cause I didn't want to be away from Rex the entire day and into the night given how he was doing at the time. This year, my other two should be okay. They will be p*ssy that they don't get their cottage cheese when they are supposed to...but they'll live. Not sure if they will be going out to dinner after the first day...but if not, I'm gonna stop by the Tilted Kilt since it is nearby and get myself some nachos

Monday morning drive by... Hopefully your weekend was good. Once again we had some family over for the first night of hanukkah. This time it was only 6 people. Once again my house is a mess, the floor is covered in grease on top of everything else. I am not complaining... I love latkes! I also got to use my new smoker for the first time. I ended up smoking 15 pounds of chicken. Thankfully it turned out really good.

Thanks
Thanks. Not sure of the next goal...would like to bench 140 lbs before the end of the year, but don't know if I'll be able to do that.
Really love the reverse close grip bench press. It is actually one of my favorite triceps exercise now. For some reason it really seems to help me learn to use my triceps more when benching plus it really burns out my triceps
LOL. Well you still have a little more than half the month left
Actually that was 360 in about 2 hours. That was annoying but I wanted to get it done. Sorry, but I need a break
Thanks
Thanks, was tempted to bump my old one...may still do that. Thanks
I don't know how you deal with having kids and then people coming over. But I guess the latkes make up for it. You need to get some of these...
Glad the chicken turned out good. Don't know if I would have the patience to smoke meat. Plus I'm sure I'd screw it up.
Weekend was exhausting and I'm still recovering from it.

Update
Helped out this weekend with Christmas Carnage. I think there was a total of 200 lifters for the entire weekend (about 100 each day). Got there a little before 8:30 AM on Saturday. It started promptly on time (8:30 AM). Got to give Amee a lot of credit for that, she keeps things going. I don't think there is any way to make the meet go even more efficiently than what she does. Well maybe if she had a few I-Pads that could be used to enter stuff, but then again...sometimes sticking with paper is for the best, especially when computers / networks can crash.
The place the meet was at was huge. Basically it is a crossfit gym run out of two small warehouses...so one warehouse was used for the main lifting and the other was for warm ups and selling merchandise. It was easily 3-4 times the size of the place they had the last two years. Even with it being bigger, the place was packed. I was busy on my feet most of the day collecting rack heights and 2nd/3rd attempts from the lifters. We maybe had a 15 minute break between the AM/PM session...other than that, only got to take brief 5 minute breaks here or there. The PM session didn't end until around 8:00 PM. Then a bunch of us went to Copperhead Grille for dinner. Didn't get home that night until 12 AM. At that point my lower back, neck and feet were sore.
Got there on Sunday right at 8:30 AM...same drill, collecting attempts except during the PM session when we needed an extra body to work the monolift arm. But on my feet the entire day. That session ran much longer since it was the heavy weights in the morning and a mix in the afternoon...so it takes a bit longer to load the bar. We maybe had a 10 minute break between sessions and the PM session ended around 10 PM. Then the hard work started...clean up. Well unfortunately since it ended so late...those that stayed for clean up was limited (started with 8) and little by little, they started to leave until it was down to the final four that stayed pretty much till the gym was completely cleaned out. Ended up getting home around 3:30 AM Monday morning. I've handled limited sleep in the past before...but being on my feet the entire time and busting my azz cleaning up the gym was really hard. Felt horrible the next day...managed to make it to the chiropractor, but no way was I going to the gym. Especially since I ended up with a sore throat and felt like I was coming down with something. I don't know if it is a cold or allergies since dust and me don't work well together. Feeling better today, but still have the sore throat and I'm starting to feel iffy as the day goes by. May go to the gym, but if I do...I will be keeping it pretty light.
Otherwise, the meet was great...got to see a lot of heavy lifts. A few 700 lb squats / dead lifts and a few 500 lb benches. Was very impressive...but damn, I just want to recover.
And I'd like to make one comment to those that do participate at power lifting meets. To those that clean up after themselves...this comment is not directed to you. To the rest of you...clean up your own damn sh*t you filthy pigs. I am not your mother and if I was I would kill myself if I raised a child to adulthood that had such filthy behavior. Have some fuking respect. Seriously for people strong enough to lift so much weight...seems a half drunk bottle of water is too heavy to lift and throw away into the trash.
FYI...will get back to the other journals when I've had more recovery time. Right now will all of my free time, I only want to sleep.

Thanks. Saw on IG that you were pretty busy with graduation. Congrats !!!
Good idea to brine it ahead of time. Helps keep it juicy. Glad it turned out well and you can get some time to clean those floors
Thanks. It was a rough two days but a lot of fun and a lot of great people volunteering to help out at the meet.
Unfortunately that seems to be the way people are these days. Such a lack of consideration. Makes me wonder if they leave their trash around their own house like that. Oh well.
Did manage to get some sleep...but recovery has been difficult since it turns out that I have a cold.

Tuesday
Biceps
Dumbbell Concentration Curls
- 1 x 05 - 27.5 lbs
- 1 x 05 - 30.0 lbs
- 1 x 05 - 30.0 lbs
- 1 x 05 - 32.5 lbs
- 1 x 05 - 35.0 lbs
These went well...definitely weaker than before, but coming back.
Barbell Drag Curls
- 1 x 20 - 40.0 lbs
- 1 x 08 - 50.0 lbs
- 1 x 08 - 50.0 lbs
- 1 x 08 - 50.0 lbs
- 1 x 21 - 40.0 lbs
Was planning on doing another set of 50 lbs, but I stepped away for a while and someone else took it from the rack. No big deal, so I decided to max out with the 40 lb barbell
Cable Overhead Curl
- 1 x 20 - 15.0
- 1 x 13 - 20.0
- 1 x 08 - 25.0
- 1 x 07 - 25.0
- 1 x 22 - 15.0
Already had a good pump from the drag curls...these helped put that over the edge
Dumbbell Alternating Hammer Curls
- 1 x 08 - 10.0 lbs
- 1 x 08 - 12.5 lbs
- 1 x 08 - 15.0 lbs
- 1 x 08 - 17.5 lbs
- 1 x 08 - 20.0 lbs
- 1 x 08 - 22.5 lbs
- 1 x 08 - 25.0 lbs
- 1 x 08 - 27.5 lbs
This was sort of my attempt at rehabbing my forearm. Haven't done anything that was remotely heavy in the hammer curl area in a while. 10 lb dumbbells caused pain. So decided I'm going to figure out if the pain is just scar tissue that needs to break down or simply associated to weakness. So decided to go thru the one dumbbell rack until it got to be too much. The first few reps of each set weren't bad...it wasn't until closer to the last three that it started to hurt a bit. But no residual pain immediately afterwards and the forearm feels fine today. A little disappointing in comparison to my old numbers...but I'll get back.
Notes:
I felt better yesterday although I needed to blow my nose a little more frequently. Strength and energy was there so figured it wasn't an issue. Well turns out I woke up this morning feeling awful. Hoped that taking a bath would make me feel better...but just felt awful all day. Was able to work from home, but the cold moved to my head and I'm really quite out of it. No way I could go to the gym today and probably won't be able to tomorrow. Was supposed to go into work tomorrow morning, but given how I feel...that may not happen. Especially since the last thing I want to do is share this cold during the holiday season. But guess this will be a deload week. Sucks cause I'm eating like a pig cause it makes me feel better...so gonna have to lose quite a bit of weight when I finally start feeling better.
