You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

anyone got a tip to deal with a nosy ass neighbor?
he wants to talk your head off every single time.
doesn't come across as having a clue with anything he is talking about
acts like he owns your property, leaning stuff against your fence/shed like he owns it, then gets an attitude when you ask him to remove it
he's a landlord so maybe he can't help how he acts, but ugh!
he is supposedly putting a tall fence up. I can't wait. that should take care of most of my problems.▪█───────█▪ Equipment Crew #46 ▪█───────█▪

Its been awhile since I had neighbors I didn't like. Personally I enjoy getting to talk to the people that live around me. I've never had anyone do the sort of things you are talking about... I did have a neighbor once that when I had in passing offered them a couple of items (a piece of plywood and some chainlink fence).... simply jumped my fence when I wasn't there, got into my shed, and took the items. I didn't mind them taking them (I had offered)... but the brazen acquisition urked me.... so I simply decided if there was anything else I wanted to give them... I'd just bring it with me when I made the offer!
In your case.... you've already talked and they get an attitude. If you care about salvaging the relationship... you may just have to go along to get along. If not, I might simply take whatever they place on my yard and put it back on their porch.... or otherwise back on their property. It should send them a message.....or not, who knows... some people are thick. I'd also try to avoid talking to them when you can and when they show up try to get away from them as soon as possible.... they should eventually grow tired of starting conversations with someone that always immediately leaves.
You could also go full redneck and start throwing their **** back into their yard, altogether just stealing it, or assaulting them whenever the opportunity presents itself.
I would suggest the former solutions.... but I work in a neighborhood that subscribes to the latter. The temperatures are going up and the bricks, rocks, chains, and 2x4's are starting to get warmed up as we speak!▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #4 ▪█─────█▪

I do have a sledgehammer
as far as acting like he owns my shed he's tried to brazenly walk inside it several times (because of his excessive nosiness). I was out there but still. the last time the door was locked. hopefully he gets the idea to stop talking to me so much. he's also complained that he thought I went in his shed (has no doors) I was about to say the only one going into sheds without permission is you haha. as far as the fence thing goes he complained about some small pieces of 2x4 scraps ending up in his yard (maybe a foot into his yard). the guy working on the shed hadn't cleaned up anything yet but still. you don't complain about some small pieces of wood then lean your fence sections against my shed on my property.
some other irksome things: he tried to rent out his nail gun to the guy working on my shed. and he's stated several times I'm going to give him a key to it so he can workout in it. yeah right. a few days after he saw my soda on top of the trash can. I had not opened it. he said 'is that my soda?' I told him no and he complained about neighborly neighbors I tell ya. well its not neighborly to offer to rent out a nail gun. he hasn't lifted one finger in helping me build the shed. no he will NOT be working out in it.
he didn't get the idea when I moved the fence back into his yard off my shed cause the next day he put it back up against my shed. I went outside to find him and saw him and he knew what I was coming out there for and he still told me to wait. wtf? I explained why I didn't want it on the shed because I was worried about the wind slamming the fence piece back against the shed and loosening my caulking at the bottom. he said he didn't know what I was talking about and started to walk back there so I said I'm going inside. he wanted to talk my head off again but I had food inside getting cold I just made and I did not want to hear him talk. he said he would take care of the fence and has had an attitude ever since. he did know what I meant obviously. I didn't say it in a mean way the problem was I said anything at all. he is probably hoping I can't afford the house so he can buy it cheap and own all the houses at the end of this corner but I'm going to be here a few more years. he doesn't even live in either house he owns on either side of me. he rents them out. he is just ALWAYS over there being nosy and annoying. I mean I know I'm a pretty interesting person, not tooting my own horn but I appreciate my privacy. he doesn't try to leave me alone at all. just because you own the house next to me doesn't mean I have to be your best bud. please.Last edited by matrix563; 04-14-2014 at 06:10 PM.

LoL.... one of our new neighbors has a Yorky that likes to come and visit our dogs. Both of my dogs are over 60lbs and one is a pit/mastiff mix..... both are gentle and playful. The neighbor lady has been amazed at how well our dogs play with hers and its all been fine until last night. She kept telling me how her five lb yap trap likes to bully bigger dogs. Last night my pitt got into her space by accident and that Yorky went bat**** crazy.... I mean he tore out after my dog and was unrelenting...my dog would run away and the yorky would scream out after her, nipping at her legs. I know from experience that the pitt will not attack or get aggressive, but she will nip back at the other dog (my other dog) when he's hurt her in play or otherwise she's had enough. I was pretty certain a "nip" from my dog would end the Yorky regardless of intent.... I kept thinking I was about to watch a blood bath and the end of our friendship with the neighbor lady.... didn't happen, but I don't think the Yorky is coming back!
True.... this is seldom a vague maneuver....Last edited by Keetman; 04-14-2014 at 07:10 PM.

This is an odd but true observation. I have used the term both as a slur....and to some degree as a term of endearment toward good dudes that are simply "country" that I like to hang out with and drink some beer. I'm sure at times I too could be considered "redneck".
Most of the people I referred to with the sticks and 2x4's are of the white trash version of "redneck". White trash just sounds so abrupt..... although, considering some of the things I have seen.... using an abrupt term would necessarily be unfair.▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #4 ▪█─────█▪

The funny thing about the word "redneck" is that no one from the North, and some from the South, understand the term at all. Southerners wear the tag with honor, due to the origin of the term http://thomaslegion.net/what_is_a_re...tory_term.html . It has meaning to them, so calling most of them rednecks is not derogatory to them, if they call you a "Yankee" that's a different story because it's derogatory.
If all y'all don't understand what I've just said, then I hope y'all have a blessed day ;o)."Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do, than by the ones you did" Mark Twain

Good stuff guys. I am going to have to start visiting the Equip Crew more often. Where I live there are different categories, you have white trash--these are normally carnies that deal meth and have missing teeth. You have country boys--who wear square toe boots, cowboy hats, and drive lifted diesel trucks. Then you have rednecks, rednecks where I come from can tie up a trot line in 6 seconds flat but have issues getting there camo boot strings tied. Last but not least you have hillbillies--this is a conglomerate of all of the above wrapped into 1. Hillbillies are by far the most interesting of the bunch. Go to any local Wal-Mart in NE Texas or SW Arkansas and you will have a field day.

now that's interesting. Per twodog's link, "redneck" originated in West Virginia - which is decidedly NOT the south.
I always thought redneck came from a sunburn on the back of the neck from being bent over working in the fields all day.Boomer Rep Crew #1

Interesting read. The more you know...
I know a few people who would be interested in this. Thanks! I do agree with the statement in the article mentioning racism is just a cover up for classism in America. Couldn't be more true.
As for WV, as my friend always says, the last thing West Virginia did right was that they succeeded from the secession, lol.
Going back to that topic, we have swamp rats & coonasses here. Rednecks are more northern Louisiana, which doesn't really have much in the way of Cajun roots.
Before anyone (including mods) jumps down my throat claiming coonass as a racial term, here's the definition:

Lol. I recently was called a stupid hillbilly by a "SUPERIOR YANKEE" that I sold, delivered, unloaded, and carried around his house, a plate loaded machine. Totally nice to the guy but he talked me down $200 off of my selling price after a 600 mile trip and he paid me with a check after agreeing to cash. I have no desire to go back to New York.

My neighbors for the most part are 70 plus. One lady will not wave back ever while she walks her little purse dog. I even offered to mow her lawn for her and whatnot. My other neighbors are probably the nicest older couple I've ever met. They offered to watch my dogs during our wedding and honeymoon. When putting in my fence we cut their cable line before the bears game and they didn't even care (JULIE) never marked it. Another guy across the street is always good for beers and is a home improvement contractor so he is extremely helpful. Im Redoing my driveway and sidewalk and will be helping him extend his driveway so we only need 1 load delivery.

My wife woke me up about 1 AM and said you have to go out and look at the moon. I said no and went back to sleep. I'm such a party pooper.

I ran into this when I lived in Colorado. I ran into a lot of people from NY & Cali, as well as many native Coloradans.
Basically, no one made eye contact, rain freaked everyone out & people put me down for simply being "from the South." Sadly, they were less educated than I am. Don't get me started on the fakeness from everyone. Had to be the most superficial place I've ever been. I only stayed there 6 months & moved back home.
I have a few relatives from NY/NJ. Despite being blood related, they act as if I'm a stupid hick & I don't know why, considering a direct comparison of academic achievements is laughable.
Stay down here. We like friendly people, lol .Crews: Ivanko Barbell Crew #52, York Barbell Club #95, Equipment Crew #59
