Feel good about tonight. Jones going to drop 20 and I move on.
Either that or I’ll put up the second highest score for week one of playoffs and be sent home. Spare me.

And Hurts is now injured, so my fantasy season is 100% over before getting to play my first playoff matchup lol
"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

I really think they don't know yet, so he very well "could miss two games" depending on how it progresses this week. He hasn't been ruled out for this week yet either, but I guess either way, now is the time to worry about a back up plan. I got Geno as a throw in when I traded Fields. I'm glad I did now.

I have Watson who looks like ass.
It doesn't matter much though because my team isn't good enough to substitute Hurts unless it were like Mahomes or Allen. The reality is even if I got past this round and made it to the championship the #1 seed in my league has been dominate and was in all likelihood going to crush me. My team has had a lot of good luck to even be where it is, was hoping I could push it as far as the championship game but I always knew my team was overperforming."One day I won't be able to lift any more. This is the team that's been lucky as chit to win games for me all year. My 2-4 picks were Javonte, M Williams, and Cam Akers, and I got virtually nothing from any of them, so it's been smoke and mirrors for most of the year. This game was a microcosm of the season, winning on the late 35 yard catch by Williams in the final drive.
To survive a downgrade from Hurts to Geno, I'll need Williams to really step up with big games the next two weeks.

Jones has to be hurt. I'm getting LaFleured hard. Thank god I'll be keeping Henry next year and I can finally move on from keeping Jones every year. Just too infuriating having him. First Williams now AJ Dillon. For good measure I drafted Swift so now I get handcuffed by both because Dan Campbell is equally a piece of ****.

Hurts did play the rest of the game, so it doesn't seem like a serious issue, just something the Eagles can afford to be cautious about since they are 13-1. The injury happened in the beginning of the 3rd quarter, and Hurts just took an extra minute to get up and didn't miss a play. He is a serious power lifter (squats in the 6's). He's sturdy enough to take a blow like that and avoid serious injury, although it is looking more and more like Minshew Mania for this week (and probably the rest of the regular season unless the Eagles still need to clinch the 1 seed in the final week).

Before the injury I don't know if they would have rested him like you think they would have. We'll never know, but he was in the running for MVP. Assuming this news hadn't broke, if they clinched the bye this week I would have expected him to fully play week 17 and play half the game week 18.
Obviously we'll never know now that he is injured. I do think he'll sit this week. After that we'll see.
What I don't think they'll do is just sit him the rest the way if they do clinch this weekend. It's not really a good idea to shut down your QB for an entire month and expect him to come back the first week of the playoffs after the teams bye and be running things efficiently.
If he's healthy and feeling fine by Week 17 I fully expect them to play him even if they win against the Cowboys this weekend. I also think he'll play the first half of Week 18. If he misses Week 17 but feels healthy for Week 18 I think he'll play all of that game instead.
Personal philosophy here, but I never liked the idea of shutting guys down for an extended time just because they clinched. You've already clinched a bye and have the extra rest advantage there. Don't go full retard shutting someone down for 3 full weeks in addition to the bye. Playing him Week 17 shouldn't even be a question if he's feeling ok by then."One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. This is a matter of opinion around the league, and I think I personally agree with you more than disagree, but I'm just reading the tea leaves here. Andy Reid always rested guys instead of playing them in meaningless games (either preseason or end of season). Sirianni comes from that coaching tree and rested Hurts in the last game against Dallas last year (when they had clinched a spot but had a chance to improve their positioning going in), so I think he'd do the same this year.
Sirianni just said in an interview that he wasn't ruling Hurts out for this week yet, so stay tuned, although he does seem doubtful right now.

Yeah I'm hoping a couple days rest and he wakes up feeling good. Like you said he finished the game and didn't seem to have any ill effects in performance last week. Maybe by Thursday after a little bit of rest and the soreness of gameday has diminished he'll feel like he's good to go again.
Long shot but I don't think it's out of the question just yet."One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. I have a couple questions that I need opinions on.
First, for a flex (full PPR), I have Aiyuk, Slayton, Pickens, J Cook, Knight, or D Jackson. I've been rolling with Aiyuk all season, but Purdy seems to favor Kittle on the seam passes. The matchup is decent, though, as Washington's front seven is much tougher against the run. Are any of those other guys worth starting over Aiyuk?
Same team, Fields or Tua? As just a straight up binary choice, it's Fields easy, but my opponent has Tyreek, so starting Tua is a way to partially neutralize his best weapon in case Hill goes off. If the Phins lay an egg and both suck, that's a huge disaster for him and a minor inconvenience for me.
Second, flex (full PPR), Dillon, Gabe Davis, or Knight? I'm leaning towards Dillon. I also have Jones, and I've been starting both all season to make sure I capture the GB RB points (since Jones is better, but Dillon gets the high value fantasy touches on the goal line). This has been a moderately high floor, high ceiling play (like last week when both had 20 points). I'm leaning towards keeping with that, just looking for opinions.
Same team, this is a TE wasteland team. I have Chigi (with Willis starting), Higbee, or Taysom?
Thanks.

first - I'll bet on talent and say Aiyuk. Although, man it is tempting to say Pickens against the stinky Raiders.
Second - I was very impressed by what Tua managed to do vs Buffalo on a cold road night. But I'm going with Fields. I'm not gonna have Fields drop 45 points on my bench. Regardless of matchup/other guy's Tyreek
Third - I'll barely say Knight but this isn't something i feel strongly about one way or the other vs Dillon
Fourth - Okonkwo really isn't that bad but without Tannehill i can't do it. I'd just throw Taysom out there and hope for a surprise.

Okonkwo is a beast, but with Willis at QB, ugh. At least they are playing for something, though (and getting a little tight around the collar with Jax sneaking up on them), so they definitely won't white flag the game (and are playing against a team that will...). I have to decide whether it's worth it gamble on the zero floor, 1% chance of a 40 point ceiling for Taysom or hope Willis finds Chigi a couple times. Okonkwo is definitely someone to look at for next year as a late round backup TE who could easily be your starter by the end of the year.

Big Dick Nick starting for the Colts this week. Just an FYI. If you're considering starting him in a fantasy playoff game, your team is fukked.
Jeff Driskel will continue to rotate with Mills at QB for the Texans (and presumably get the red zone snaps if they ever get to the red zone). This is notable because he has TE eligibility in Yahoo for some reason.

Pick 1 defense:
Philly @ Dallas
Detroit @ Carolina
Chargers @ IND
Feels silly to bench Philly for either of the other two who had horrible starts to the season but it seems like it might be the right choice based on matchups.
Not surprised after they let Taysom Hill slide all year. He has both more pass attempts (17) and rush attempts (68) than targets (11).

Taysom has TE eligibility in ESPN, too, and probably other platforms because at least he does actually line up at TE occasionally, even if his usage is far more as the "change of pace QB" or whatever you want to call it. I don't think Driskel has ever played a single snap at TE in a regular season game, and only Yahoo has TE eligibility as far as I know.

Hurts ruled out now official as of this morning.
I dropped Deshaun Watson and actually picked up Pickett due to the weather conditions expected in Cleveland on Saturday. My only other reasonable option would be Purdy who has his own ailments. Mostly hoping for a career day from Pickett. Thoughts on that choice? Would anyone else stick with Purdy or Watson?
Other things I'm considering and wouldn't mind opinions on:
-Amari Cooper or Devin Singletary? Again going back to the weather, plus Cooper has his hip thing, plus he hasn't connected well with Watson the last few games
-Pat Freiermuth or Juwan Johnson?
Ironically considering Juwan Johnson in spite of the weather after possibly knocking Cooper out because of it. Main reason is with Hurts down I'm going to need everyone to contribute and I already have Diontae Johnson in as a WR. Diontae Johnson has to play and do well, that's not up for debate if I have any chance. I know Pickett won't be throwing for 400 yards so if Diontae is having his best game of the year (hopefully) including finding the endzone I have to assume Freiermuth's upside will be low. In contrast, Juwan Johnson is now a TD machine and genuinely has a chance at a 2 TD game at any moment."One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. I have to say Chargers. No more Taylor and a QB situation that has been beyond f*cked and only got more f*cked going into this week. If they didn't gain 150 yards on offense TOTAL I wouldn't be shocked.
Edit:
Murph is right though the Chargers have a trash defense. Even still, that Colts offense just looks non-existent to me.
My biggest worry with Philly is Minshew turning the ball over and Dallas working off short fields leading to points on your defense. Even if he doesn't turn it over I think the Dallas D is going to eat him up and give Dallas the better field position for most of the game.Last edited by SoutheastBeast1; 12-22-2022 at 08:08 AM.
