Hey!!!
Happy Saturday everyone!
So I begrudgingly did come back from Key West. I think I just may have to retire there. I just loved the laid back style and music and food and beach cottages. I'm going to continue to keep my eye out for real estate down there and take the plunge one day. Seriously felt like the place for me.
I have a new journal up and running in the Sponsored Supplement Section. It's for AppNut and I'm testing out a sleep/recovery aid that also helps the body release growth hormone due to the fact that the product should induce a deeper sleep .... I hope I wake up God knows I have about 4 alarms set already to get my tushie out of bed!
I'll let this journal drift off to the last page of this section while I run my new journal. I took a little bb.com break, but I'll come visit you guys a little more often now.
Stop on by....I miss you all!

HELLO AGAIN!
I can't believe it's been almost 6 months since I last posted in the journal! Took 4 months just to find it again and drag it up from the bb.com bargain basement of forgotten journals.
I changed the name of this journal because in about 18 months I will turn ............. 60!!!
My goal, besides the given "continue to wake up every morning" is to have more schmexy muscles poppin everywhere at 60 then I did at 50.
So.................for comparison's sake ......
Age 50, weight 125
Today, almost 8 years later.... Lifted dem weights, ate all the cheeseburgers and gained 12 pounds Pushin the big 6-0 and weighing in at 137
This weekend I'll be back to tell you what I've been up to for the past few months, and visit all of you guys
I have missed all of you!Caring about what people think of you is useless. Most people don't even know what they think of themselves.

I guess the biggest change I've made since I last posted 6 months ago is I now take Hot Yoga. I am dedicating this post entirely to tell you about Hot Yoga. Take warning
Hot Yoga is code for Death, but they wouldn't get too many participants if "Death By Incinerator" was posted on their front door.
If you decide to take Hot Yoga, enter with an open mind. Have absolutely zero expectations ... except one ... to survive.
I saw a sign on the corner of a street right around the corner of work for Death and thought "Hey!!! There's one more reason I can add to why I can't get anything done at home because I'm never there! Hot Yoga classes!"
Stopped by one day during lunch and said I was excited to see a new Hot Yoga studio so close to work when I was informed that they'd been there for 2 years. Alrightly then
Signed up on the spot for the "Introductory Special" The first warning should have been the paperwork I had to fill out which contained only two questions .....
1. Emergency Contact
2. Hospital of Choice
and at the bottom ...
*Locally crafted urns are available for purchase to store your incinerated ashes. A $100 fee will be charged if you disintegrate on our beautiful hardwood floor*
After 2 months of classes (yes, I am that advanced) this is what I have learned~
Every class is the same. There are 26 poses in the exact same order in every single class.
I don't look remotely like that doing any of them, and if you think 105 degrees feels hot when you walk in, just wait until the class starts. I swear it cranks up to 205 degrees
There are little cubbies on the way into the incinerator. Choose one low to the ground because you will be crawling out of class and it's easier to grab your stuff that way
Goddess of the beads and pretzel poses advised that I come early to acclimate my body to the room. This is both good and bad advice. When you open the door to "the room" (which has a set of rules that are taken very seriously...more about that in a second) a 105 degree wall of fire hits you in the face. The Room is very serene and dimly lit and soft, soothing music is playing which quickly becomes annoying soft soothing music because there are exactly two words in the entire song, which I think are OOOOOOOMMMMMM and NOOOOOOMMMMM and twinkly little chiming bells that chime the same thing over and over and over in between OOOOOOMMMM and NOOOOOOOMMMMM.
The Rules ....
No Talking, No Noise, A slip and slide (mat), towel, and water are the only things that are allowed to come with you into The Room. You will be told when you can sip your water....take it...you get exactly 2 of them. 2 sips, 105 degrees....capish? You cannot leave the room once the class has started. Please die quietly on your slip and slide. Goddess of the beads and pretzel poses will direct the class by verbal instruction not by actually doing the class with you......I have no clue what she's ever saying......until she says "If you would like a sip of water, you may take it now" I obey
Please be aware that your beautiful, life-sustaining, Britta filtered crystal clear water has now become the 105 degree room temperature equivalent of drinking hot tub water
You WILL sweat
Halfway through the class you realize you're breathing in a combination of carbon dioxide, BO, garlic and asparagus-infused sweat, and vegan beancurd cake farts....thanks to your yogi classmates
Sweat and contacts do not mix. Waterproof mascara is a lie. Invest in good yoga pants. Cheap yoga pants + sweat = everyone sees your butt crack and other stuff that no one wants to see. If you choose to wear cheap yoga pants, please don't put your mat in front of mine. That is not what I want to see during my last dying breath.
Once we hit the floor to do floor poses I feel like I'm having some hypertensive event as my entire body is pulsating with the "fresh oxygenated blood purported benefit of hot yoga" through my system and may just blow my head off any second.
Keep about 50 gallons of water in your car. Once you're back in your car, the Goddess of Purposeful Dehydration cannot dictate your H2O consumption.
As you drive home, you weirdly can't wait for the next class or your next shower....
plus it works your core something wicked.
plus I'm heading to Cancun the end of March
Happy Weekend Friends!Last edited by swooshie; 02-07-2015 at 12:16 PM.

Are you promoting this or trying to talk us out of it!? JK, I always wondered what hot yoga was, sounds tough!

Ok I have questions about this hot yoga thing...
Are there ever people passing out due to heat stroke/dehydration?
What if you have to pee? I have to pee allll the time, so do you just sweat it out or what?
If you have some kind of health issue (blood pressure thing, blood sugar thing) are you rejected from said class because you will die?
Lol'd at vegan farts, that's got to be as bad as when someone rips one in the sauna.Current PRs:

Hi Swoosh! Loved the hot yoga post. I've gone to hot yoga a few times at my regular yoga place, but it's not that hard core--95 degrees, not 105, and you can drink water any damn time you please. And I STILL had sweat coming out of my body from places I didn't really previously believe had sweat glands. Nothing like being in chaturanga and hearing your own sweat hitting the mat like raindrops on the roof.

Maybe both! It's oddly addicting!
KwaaaaayZeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Nice sig ya got there!
Hiya Hamazon!
Well, there are some guidelines they suggest you follow before the class. You're supposed to hydrate really well but stop drinking and eating at least an hour before class. They tell you if you feel dizzy, nauseated, near death, to just lay on your mat, but not leave the class. If you do die, they will dispose of you before their next class.
There are a lot of people in the class that head to the bathroom within minutes of the class starting. Once the class starts, you're not supposed to leave.....or pee.
You do have to sign a disclaimer and they suggest you consult a physician if you have known health issues. I think the blood pressure thing might be contraindicated. I don't have a blood pressure problem and I swear my head was going to explode in there.
Hey drea Yeah, the water thing is kind of weird. Apparently one may disturb the class if one takes an unauthorized water break .... death is silent I guess
People warned me about the sweat, but I guess you just have to experience it! OMG I honestly was sweating more in Hot Yoga then any other class I've ever taken. I did by a yoga mat towel specifically for hot yoga and that helps a lot.Caring about what people think of you is useless. Most people don't even know what they think of themselves.
