Did keto last year.
Pros:
-Always looked lean & feel light
-Fatty food=tastes good
-Everyday pb/whey sludges hnggg
Cons:
-Low energy at gym after a while
-Flat feel/look
-You start missing carbs like crazy
Brb plain bread tastes amazing
-Always looking forward to your carbup/refeed day
Not worth imo..I need my carbs daily

Discovered this recently too, very exciting.
Watermellon (I think a whole one is under 100 calories lol, but that's just something I've heard not sure on it), cantelope, strawberries, cucumber. All very low in calorie.
Was under in calories all week but no weight loss overall (very high sodium sat/sun so maybe bloat?) but I look a bit leaner. I'll try one more week at this calorie range and see if I get one of those woosh's everyone talks about.Eat Right. Lift Heavy. Be a Fat Manlet.

I don't bother going into much detail discussing lifting/diet with anyone outside the boards, other than an occasional chat with my brother or when I decide to bore my wife with a detailed explanation of the functional relationship between volume day and intensity day on the Texas Method lol. Other than that, it's just easier to give vague responses to questions and ignore stupid comments.

No one ever sticks with it anyways so I just refer them to MyFitnessPal, show them a solid calorie calculator and then show them that beginners program on the workout program board.
But, I had one friend who has stuck with it for a year now, we've become best friends lol. Finally someone to talk about nutrition and go lift with. Becoming full homo together.

In week 5 of keto lost 18 lbs so far and down 3% bf according to my bio impedance scale (I know it's not that accurate but I was 19% now I'm 16%) I like it but yeah lack of energy at the gym and my lifts have stalled pretty hard. As soon as I hit 10% I'm gonna ease carbs back in and start carb cycling.

This IF diet is being thrown around the UK at present, met someone today who was on a non eating day oh lawd.
http://www.nhs.uk/news/2013/01Januar...diet-work.aspx
Link is from our national health system as well lulz.
I don't do IF but you guys only fast for like 16 hours right? not for a day? The 5/2 thing just seems too much?
Edit seems you can take in 5/600 cals on fasting days but just seems quite drastic. Fad dieting of peace. Will get the whales interested for a couple of weeks before they go back to the pies and cakes.

Yeah, fast for 16 hours, eat for 8 hours. Most guys typically eat around 12pm-8pm and fast 8pm-12pm, but it varies. I've heard of fasting for 1 whole day, even that sounds rough. In theory, fasting 2 days would give you the same weekly calories as a 1,000 calories deficit per day, can't see how that would be good for anyone that is trying to hold onto as much muscle mass as possible.

strong this. I've got a PT fraternity brother and he's really the only guy I can talk to about it. Everyone else who asks me for advice/information completely disregards what I say and sticks to their own methods, despite their complete lack of knowledge on bodybuilding.
For example I've got a buddy who wants to get cut. Right now he's eating 1600 calories (dude weighs 215lbs) and about 70g protein. I tell him he needs to up calories and up protein, he tells me "no I'm not upping protein, I don't want to get big"TORN ACL CREW
