Yup...ultimately, that's my take on the whole deal. As long as I do my part to get their early, I should be okay.
Exactly. Trouble there (or anywhere else, for that matter) is the last thing that I need.Good deal on the back.

Impressions:
I was thankful for a weekend workout. After a stress filled week, I could finally settle in and really get into the session. My energy was still lacking a bit due to my sleep deficit, but I made the best of what I had in the tank. Every week will be tough until the final deadlines are made towards the end of the year, but next week will allow me to back away from the precipice a bit, so I hope to have a better handle on everything in general.

Okay...so it's not just me.
Good work; the iron is adding up.
Probably just trying to avoid overtraining.
Welcome back again, bro. I look forward to catching up with you.
On spread with you MH. Catch you on the flip side!
I'm still making judgments as I figure things out, but the back has been incredibly well-behaved. Part of the reason behind that is following the lift after deads is decreasing the amount of weight that I use.
I have a little something in the tank on all of the posts that I've made about back squats over the past few weeks. However, I am trying to allow for my spine to adjust to the loads gradually regardless of what the LE muscles are willing to take on...

Impressions:
My regimen is about 75% planning and 25% inspiration, these days. Having this amount of instinctive training in the mix is probably about ideal for experienced lifters, IMO. My crazy work schedule is still impacting my overall energy, so my recent workouts have been down about 3 to 5 sets, or so. I'm not sure how I know the right amount of work that I need at a given time...I just know. FWIW, the workload is still decent for the lower extremities since I'm doing some form of a squat twice within a lifting cycle (i.e., every 6 days). After 44 years on this planet, my legs have never been bigger than they are right now, so I'm going to stay on the current course for the time being...

Despite the occasional power surge, I'm still a bodybuilder to the core...
Using bands with front squats is like going to the local bar and having the bartender give you the special hooch from behind the counter - you can handle it, but it's only for regulars, and you only occasionally get to experience the privilege.
Cheers!

It's quite impressive that you are able to work well within your limitations. Work can drain the Hades out of you and I'm happy you're still able to get some solid work in despite your volume being down. Honestly, volume is a big key, but so is contraction, rest, recouperation, recovery, concentric, eccentric, TUT, you name it. If you're working with Big Wheels now instead of a moped, you're doing something right. "You fight like an older man".....wisdom!
If you can understand the me, then I can understand the you.

It was perfect timing for the Dynamic Phase of training, as far as delts go. I haven't gone heavy with OHPs since the mid-back fubar, so the explosive lifting style and requisite intermediate loads was just what the doctor ordered as I work my way back...

Absolutely. I learned my lesson from my college years: stopping my lifting because of "busyness" was one of the worst decisions that I have made. I won't make that mistake again now that I'm in a mid-career tornado...
LOL, yes, I'm starting to understand the psychology among lifters that curl in the squat rack at cable/BOSU ball dominated gyms - might as well use the equipment...

Thanks. I hadn't felt any pain in the midback for a while. But I may have spoken too soon. During some Olympic Daddy events with the kid, he landed on me just right and strained the same area. Hopefully it will settle down before tomorrow's session.
Yeah, I think that most BBers have a mild case of asymmetry in at least one body part. I only note it occasionally in my log, but I usually do a mild "back off" on the strong side (stop before failure; eliminate the last set or last exercise; etc) and do standard work for the weaker side. The extra work for the weak side is a valid approach (within reason, of course), but I already have extra work in regimen for lagging body parts (independent of symmetry issues), so that's not really an option for me.
Thanks; still on the hunt for improvements there come 2013.
Most definitely. You shoulda' been here a couple of months ago - I really making gains by leaps and bounds on that lift before I crunched my back on the bench. It's slowly coming back to life.
Nope. Even when I can't be at my very best because of other commitments, I have been trying to remain as consistent as possible.
That may be the most difficult exercise that features the bands; an acquired taste, for sure.
