With any luck they are Mac barbells, precursor to the TPB.

I had one similar, based on the inner sleeve pictures the consensus seemed to be it was a Mac even though the ends were not stamped 'Mac Barbell' with the Texas state logo. Really nice bushing barbell, good knurling, the diameter was 28.5mm, and it cleaned up really nice.

Yes, google image 'Mac Barbell' and you will see what the marks look like on the end of the barbell. Basically it's the Texas Power Bar logo with Mac's name on there instead of Buddy Capps, although there are some like mine that did not have any marks but were identical looking power bars. I'm not sure if it's been 100% confirmed, but they say it was probably just a run they did without stamping the ends because the welds on the inner bushings were identical.

Single roll pin, and the inner brass bushings are actually welded to the sleeve.

That describes the bar I have exactly. All the diminsions , sleeves , bushings, are identical ,but, no stamp on the end cap. Confirmed or not , I'm calling it a Mac.

So brass welded to steel? I did not even know that was possible.

It does not seem like a good design since Ive replaced the worn out brass bushings on several other 'old' bars I have.

Damn! How many sets of RHs are you building? You have a serious addiction. You are a bad influence for the rest of us in the Equipment Forum.

Very impressive, on spread. I’m also on the look out for a pair of 60s, make sure to leave some for the rest of us. . I was upset that I missed a pair of 25s a few days ago when I was out of town.

I ended up only buying three of the bars. The one missing the ends is 32mm and has thick bushings. The other two are identical with center knurling and the caps on the sleeve ends is secured with roll pins. The knurling on all three is in great condition. I can not see any identifying markings on them.

Another end pic of the 32mm bar. I would love to find out what it is so I can get ends. There are slots for C-Clips.

Hampton. They have a rubber cap that locks into the slot.

I've got a chrome plated 32mm hapton that also has rubber around the fat part of the sleeve. Is this an older design?

Like RemainDieHard said that one is a Hampton IB-86-7CE and did come in 3 different variations of finishes. The newer Hampton bars are made with rubber bands around the collars. They make those rubber end caps fairly impossible to take off unless you're fine with messing it up.

Nope not that one, that one's a current model and is 30mm and collars are a little different. I didn't realize they still make any with those rubber end caps.

The one in question looks like mine that was being sold about 10 years ago. Mines a 1500lb rated one. They were selling 700lb rated ones too at the time. I can't remember if they used better steel or just thicker bar, because I remember the PSI rating of mine wasn't particularly high... Maybe 165k?

Thanks. I emailed Hampton. If I can get a couple caps from newer bars I think I can cram them in enough to work

You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

It might be an older variation of the IB-86-15CE than. From what I understood though was the 7CE variation was originally 32mm and went down to 30mm, and the 15CE took that place of the 32mm, but we will what the verdict is when hampton emailes him back.
