Switched up my boots for my ride today. Went with a pair of about ankle high leather redwings I have. Compared to the old combat boots I used to use I like these a lot better. Can definitely feel the shifting better and they rest better on the foot pegs.

Debating on getting a tl1000 to street fighter. It has a busted front wheel and it was dropped but I could pick it up for $500 running and tear it to chit. Possibly resell for $1500 with a salvage title or run it into the ground....

How does one measure forks and frame for fuq cluster? The wheel is just dented not completely farked but I'd like to be sure the damage is isolated.

Measure the wheelbase, and the distance of each each fork from the triple tree. This should give you a ballpark if it's super messed up.

google 'stringlining' its pretty easy to do with someones help and you can get your wheels tracking perfectly. itll let you know if anythings majorly out of alignment but if you need to be 1000% sure its gotta to an engineer/straightener.

I am on a job that started at 6am. Out in 5 mins to begin the hour and a half commute home. Too tired to ride this evening.

I did the easiest mod I have ever done on my bike recently- switched the turn signal lenses and bulbs to smoke lenses and amber bulbs. It looks really good IMO.

Potentially mane. I went back and cleaned em real well. I don't want to remove the pistons because I can't deal with fluids and sht going everywhere in my driveway. Brembos are expensive as fukkk too, I'd use tokico again though

Haha that's another no-avi person. Mine is an 85 honda interceptor 500. I bought it as a learner bike about 2 years ago, and have been riding on and off since then. I haven't taken it to college, so its all been over the summer. It sat a lot last summer as well, so I have been spending this summer on some TLC. I took some pictures today after I cleaned it up, I'll post them soon.

A couple of people here have the SV, seems to be a pretty good bike all around.

I like the SV, and the prices on them generally aren't that bad. Gonna need something my girl can ride 2up with as well. Its too damn uncomfortable on a supersport.

So now that I've fixed up my bike, I thought I wanted to sell it. I missed riding so much though I don't want to have to wait to sell this bike and buy a new one.

Any Virginia riders ever been to Apple House in Front Royal? Its right off 55 (and right off 66). My dad and I went riding to there through some twisties and got some great breakfast. 110 mile ride through some beautiful scenery. Kicking myself for forgetting to bring my GoPro.

Yea thats not always true but its weird to change the fairings if you don't need too. But dropping the bike could mean it has underlying issues I myself wouldn't risk it but everyones entitled to their own opinion

I know the SRADs front wheels fit the TL so wont be too hard to find one.

I also have a set of forks that will fit the tl i can let go for pretty cheap. Same fork diameter and all off my 750.

Don't cheap out on protection. Doesn't mean you have to spend $400 on some Sidi boots or $300 on some Dainese gloves. I think $100 for gloves will get you a good pair. Don't know who makes a good $100 boot. Just look around the various close out sites too.


Sixxer, toothbrush and a lot of brake cleaner to free those pistons maybe??


Installed my TechSpec pads last night, went on very easily. Will try them out tonight.

Try on several different types of gloves to see what you like best. I picked up some Alpinestars SP2 race gloves on sale a couple of months ago for $70. Helluva deal for some great gloves.

Those TL-R's look a lot heavier than they spec out at. One bike I never rode. Supposed to have more top end compared to the TL.

Yes. Not difficulty level 9000. As long as it's worth repairing (from your pics, it looks like it is, but again, make certain the frame/forks are good to go), then you should be able to do it.

For me, it was far more time consuming than actually difficult. If you have any friends who are mechanics/riding buddies with experience, just see if one will come over to help for whatever parts most concern you.
