We both started bulking at the same time - and I guess we won't really be able to compare since I stopped bulking and lifting lots and am now maintaining/cutting and doing mostly cardio and body weight - but I made some pretty solid gains with a big surplus and still have blurry abs. My love handles are the only things that really don't look good.
I'd much rather see my lifts skyrocket and have people tell me how much size I've put on then "still look the same despite being 10lbs heavier".1175 @172

How big was your surplus Ammex? I'm starting to agree with earthshieldlol that lean bulking just doesn't produce results.

ventured out into the main forum a bit this morning and came across a couple gems from him. honestly i think he's just young and stupid. seems to be open to advice though so hopefully he'll learn a couple things here at least. the thing about the egg yolks though... when i read it i lost it lololol.

Big. Bigger than I'll go again. I blame the dirtiest part of the bulk on being away for a month on course, and on knowing I had to cut it short. I definitely bulked too dirty at the end. I started off gaining about .5-.8 pounds a week and it was fine.
Did buy the SizeOn but won't be shopping too much today. Spent so so so much money this weekend already. If I do look for cyber Monday deals I doubt it will be on supplements.1175 @172

I'm not lifting really at all right now. Cardio and body weight because its what I need to be good at come January. No one is going to test me on my deadlift. So I have no idea where my strength is at. I'm cutting slow so all my size is staying. All that is going to shrink much is my waist anyway. Everything else is still vascular and slightly striated.

Sup guys? I just went around a few places to look for an internship place. Anyways, I was really stressed out and in city center, so I decided to go shopping to relax. I actually look a lot better than I thought and really not fat when I saw myself in the mirrors. I got a few qt things but not too much since I can buy nicer things on the internet usually.
My new roommate said the same thing, that I'm really not fat (when I told her I started my cutting diet), she's actually really cool. I helped her put together some furniture last night and we chilled a bit. She wants to maybe start training too cos she's really skinny and wants to gain some weight.Last edited by justanothagirl; 11-26-2012 at 08:09 AM.

I can still see mine just fine, IMO you are probably "fatter" than you think you are, i had the same thing happen to me a year ago but i THOUGHT i was fat free but wasnt...just used to seeing a fatter me. You CAN have abs and bulk, i cannot remember your specific history but if you never bulked before this then id say that you probably dont have enough mass yet but you dont have to have any kind of stomach at all.

what a weekend...Thursday like many of you, I did not track a damn thing, and eat what I wanted when I wanted, and not a single fuark was given that day. Woke up @ 236, and went to bed at 247(is this real life.pdf?) The rest of the weekend, I used portion control, but still ate what wanted up until my calorie limit, and then I pie and ice cream on top of that every night of the weekend, until I ate it all, so it was gone and out of my house I would not eat any more of it as I get back to a normal eating style this week. Was a good weekend...anybody have any good cliffs?

i mean body composition, it shouldnt change much at all. i still look the same because i have no fat on me and mentioned everything is slightly bigger. the key is minimal surplus so a cut is only a month long since lifts will go up anyhow over time.

Fuark, ketchup in my hair. But no time to wash it if I want to get a decent workout in at the gym before closing time. So not going to wear my new coat I guess since I don't want it to stain.
@Krete, good for you for getting back in there, keep it up!

Oh absolutely. I know I am actually pretty "fat" right now. But at 143 (yeah, weighed myself first thing this morning on the new scale, with no food), I still have no real muscle mass to speak of. I still look better than I did at 137 (which was basically skinny with love handles and mostly flat stomach), and while the pudge in my midsection is unfortunate, I have very little fat elsewhere.
I started out at ~160lbs, did two cycles of P90X, and came down to 137. But I looked pretty bad because I just had no muscle mass, and it was recommended that I bulk. So, early September, I started my bulk with All Pro's. Right now, my plan is to keep at this through February (6 months).
Here's a picture from last night. Two caveats:
1. First, this pic was taken after I'd eaten food during the course of the day, and my evening protein shake. But I wanted a pic that showed me how I was naturally, not without any food etc.
2. I am not holding anything in -- pretty relaxed. If I tense, of course, I look much better.
While I have made decent progress, I think APs is pretty slow, and I could push myself some more. So, I am thinking of upping protein and doing more than just APs (I've already added some lifts based on feedback from y'all -- deadlifts, lat pulldowns, DB chest flys, cable crossovers).
And I am more than open to suggestions to tweak my workout and diet based on any feedback from you folks.
