I got hit helmet to helmet after the play was over on kickoff. I finished the game (stupidass decision), and told the trainer yesterday. Today I saw the team doctor, who thought I might have internal bleeding IN MY BRAIN (!), so I went to the hospital, and got an MRI that turned back negative (thank God). They told me I have a concussion and I'll be out anywhere from 2 weeks to the whole season. The concussion just became official today.

also.. i hate myself right now.. my team (20-13 school) took out the 4 year in a row undefeated for 4 year state champions today(like 50-0).. and i didn't play and i coulda been a part of that.. i hate my self right now..

I'm not cleared for any physical activity right now, once I am I'll get to lifting and running again. I tried to run yesterday, and I got a horrendous headache from just warming up. And that sucks you didn't play this year bro

ahhh well just take it easy! people have told me drinking lots of water helped them but i doubt it has any effect just stay hydrated and feed that body some good food!

Glad youre going to be alright brother. Get everything worked out and even if you have to miss the rest of the season thats just more time to get ready for varsity. Did the dude who hit you helmet to helmet get a flag or anything? After what happened to that poor kid in houston they really need to crack down on that garbage.

Thanks bro. Truth be told, I don't remember if there was a flag or not. But I do remember a few times where there was blatant helmet to helmet that the refs didn't call. And if I am out for the whole season, I'll get back to lifting heavy and sprinting when I'm cleared for that. I'm not gonna let this set me back from making Varsity or at least starting on JV A next year.

No problem. Concussions suck, my brother's team's starting center took a cheap shot from a kid from trinity and got a concussion; he's missed a game but hopefully will be able to come back this week. Hope you can come back soon too.

Yeah concussions are a huge pain. And all the concussions I've seen are from cheap shots, not hard clean tackles. Hopefully your bro's teammate comes back 100%. I'm missing Skyline next week, which kills me inside. I've been wanting to play them forever.

what do you call cheap shots? clipping is chip shotting yeah, but blocking someone from the side isn't cheap shotting, people do it to you, you get to do it to other peoples. i love decleating people from the blindside, lmao especially when i'm playing offensive line(ya rly) and it's an outside screen, you just kill the outside linebacker.

Did you see the kid from Stanford that got knocked out cold tonight? They should have thrown that Oregon player out of the game. With all the research suggesting hits like that can cause permanent damage; anybody who leads in like a missile on another player's head with out even pretending like they want to wrap the guy up ought to get at least a personal foul call.

Refs definitely need to crack down on it more. You see penalties for barely touching the kicker or QB, but other people are getting lit up helmet to helmet with no flag.

From my experience with this injury it will be a few weeks time before you feel normal again so just kick back and watch games for awhile and see how you are after that. All the girls on our team were only out for a month or less with theirs. I bought an ION 4d at the start of last season and have only even felt just one hit so far. Best decision I have ever made.

Good day today. I did lots of questionnaires, got some automated responses back, and sent my gametape link to the Momouth director of recruiting. I'm gonna start calling head coaches, position coaches, and recruiting directors from local colleges and a few out of state soon to show them I mean business.

I would still shell out the 300 for the ION4d. Nothing touches it. I have done a LOT of research. The X1 doesn't do any competitive tests against it for a reason.

And yeah the Revolution is WAY out dated. It was the best helmet in its day but that was ages ago....

I may get the Ion next year, I'll probably stick with the DNA for these last few games.

And the Xenith seems a little gimmicky to me, it's a little sketchy.

Lost to Skyline 13-12. Our pass rush was nonexistent. We would have won if I could have played, I'm so pissed! We also missed 2 extra points with our backup kicker because the real kicker had a soccer game tonight. Dammit
