late bloomer
hey guys. ive been reading some of the posts on this thread and you guys definitely seem to know what u are talking about. I was a late bloomer...i was 5'9" 190 lbs (all soft) all the way until the summer between my junior and senior year of high school and i got cut from the high school team then i grew to 6'4" 230 lbs (still kinda soft) in the3 months of summer and the coach wanted me back and i declined due to the coach being a D***. i graduated and went to a JUCO that had just won state and i didnt even tryout. then my pitching coach told me to try out because i am 6'6" 210 and he said i should be an easy walk on. i dont throw too hard for my size consistant 88-89 mph. im notorious for the bad habit of short arming. i was hoping u guys would have some solutions for me with breaking this bad habit. ive heard when i get my arm out i will be able to throw a lot harder and thats all im looking for. i workout pretty much everyday and since im a pitcher i definitely get my cardio in. my coaches also want me to get up to at least 225 lbs. ill take any suggestions.
thanks in advance.

yes. that stack is 100% guarenteed to get you tested positive. although an ec stack is the best method for loosing weight (except for of course diet and exercise) it is banned by wada (olympics), ncaa, and most other competition. plasma levels of caffeine will get you to test positive for stimulants and diuretics (it does both) if you blood level is at a certain level. either 2 cups of coffee, 2 cups yerba mate, about 3 cups cola, like 5 cups tea, etc... all these cenario's will get you tested positive (each of these is about 400mg caffeine, so dont drink caffeine drinks within 24-48hours of testing). ephadrine and its metabolites (ephedra, ma huang[or whatever the chinese herb is], etc..) will also get u positive. there are other methods of supplementation to augment weight loss without getting some1 banned, but baseball isnt a weight class sport so i dont see the need to be on an ec stack (except for lossing weight).

he used hydroxycut??? ????????????????the muscletech hydroxycut?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! i would have stabbed him and then ran away, while doing the peter griffen laugh. muscletech is the more famous version of gnc (overpriced and useless. you pay for the fancy words). the free t-shirts are more anabolic than the actual supplement lol. there are so many better ways to loose weight without taking questionable supplements. every1 knows diet+exercise and ec stack works, hands down. but 1 of them is illegal. and with how much bull$H!T the ncaa comes up with(they were actually considering banning creatine. yes, no lie) diet+exercise will be banned in college too, lol jk jk. ultra high fiber diets, calcium, phosphates, green tea extract, and calcium pyruvate supps all work. all these work at half the price (except for pyruvate), can be brought at walgreens, and actually work. granted they dont do the work for you (like an ec stack) but they do exactly what they r supposed to do:supplement diet and exercise. i blame the media for quick fixes. all kids see now a days is: "loose 20lbs in 7minutes. call this toll free number and we'll...". of course they'll get suckered into paying $60 for a 2 week supply of bull$H!T products.

if you are short arming it then ur probably not using your legs. the body coil's back in order to store inertia. the legs powers the motion (usually with the front knee's going up and back like its kneeing something, or foot kicks low and out to the side) , while the torso twist or rotates(because the torso stores the power/whip in this phase). then your body uncoils, with your legs and torso powering it, to release that stored energy (the torso anatomically collapses slightly to tranfer power down to the legs where the legs drive against the ground and the energy travels back up the body). in this phase since power has been transfered to the legs to initiate the reverse up the body that means the torso (and everything above it) is used as transfer levers. the more power transfers through the body the straighter/more still the torso and head are (physics: if the torso moves wildly or on its own then it means that the torso is anatomically deformed during the transfer of kinetic energy and less power is automatically transfered; like a loose bolt in a car. and a still head enables greater accuracy during a throw, because..... well you can see where you're throwing; like controling the steering wheel. whatever direction the wheel is facing the car follows. ) right here is probably where you are short arming it. instead of your legs and torso doing the work during this part you are begining to conciously use your arm. your arms are supposed to lead the pitch/throw and follow through across the body (which is step 3 in my really short version of pitching/throwing phases), not do the actually work (yes the arms do work but not to the same extent that the legs and torso can.).

Answered this question in a PM, but I figured it should be addressed here as well.
Young pitchers, you should shoot to have your shoulders a bit infront of your back leg. What do I mean? See these pictures....
This will allow for all motion to go forward, and for you to not fall off balance if you are leaning backwards.

Ok for baseball they have us lift in the morning for about 30-20 minutes on mon, wed, fri. Then on tues, thurs, fri they have us do push ups, sit ups, sprints and stairs for about an hour and a half. I was wondering if i should go lift after school on mon, wed, fri to finish my workout, because I only have time to get bench and squat done, they dont let you deadlift and they make you do a bunch of other things that i find irrelevant to baseball.
thanks.
sorry ven, i was in a hurry and i forgot to put in here first.

No biggie.
To answer your question, it's really up to you. I would personally use the team lifting time like you have been but I would continue after it finishes with any additions, or finish it later on that night.
The one thing I will tell you is that most college coaches don't know what they are doing when it comes to strength training. I would recommend doing your research and taking care of yourself how you see fit.

I wanted to ask this question a looong time ago but didn't unfortunately, whatever... So basically I play basketball and football(soccer). Yes I'm a bit hyper and stuff. I'll probably ditch basketball cause its just "not my sport" tho i'm pretty good in it considering i've been playing a couple of months.
Well the question is regarding baseball and weights due to shoulders being severely destroyed after each session I suppose. A friend of mine told me that I should come to train with him (which i did 2 sessions) cause I told him I like the sport but never had the opportunity to play. He's saying stuff that I just put a little bit of work and a scout will for sure pick me up, although my problem is due to weight training(shoulder) and he couldn't answer my question fully.
The 2 sessions I went I pitched right handed and I thought that I'd be sore for sure but not utterly destroyed, couldn't move arm sideways straight without feeling the rotator cuff like an open fire. I'm ambidextrous although not naturally it is pretty solid and told him about it which he found amazing to say the least. So now I'm in a dilemma, I told him that I will give him a complete answer on going to baseball hardcore in 2 months cause due to a recent knee injury and this damn shoulder I need them for a rest(doc said).
What should I do? Can I have a good physique while maintaining healthy shoulders(cause I am going to start hitting the gym, fed up of being a scrawny tall kid...) and how do you deal with shoulder problems in everyday life and on near future?
Thanks a lot and sorry for making it long, cheers mate.~ The Legion of Good Samaritans ~

i hope the bold isnt a serious question. anyhow, as far as what you should do: do what u think is best for u. do some rotator cuff exercises with a rubber tube for the nagging shoulder. and start off with man pushups (dips) and pullups b4 u go trying to lift heavy wegiht and then agravate that shoulder again because u werent sensible with the weights. also i noticed u r 6'5" and weigh 165. u should weigh alot more in a power sport ( such as baseball). like 232 or more. at the least 206.
