Goals have drastically changed at this time. Need to keep finding new challenges... went from a bodyweight of 245lbs benching 315lbs for 3 and 110lb DB's for 14 reps to 195lbs last year finishing numerous running and bike races, a full Marathon in 3:38 along with 2 Triathlons. I really enjoy getting strong and working out, but I miss the competitiveness from other sports.
I am really pushing the performance benefit of supplements these days vs the muscle gains and vanity effects I used to judge them by.

How the hell did I miss this thread?
In any case, really psyched to try this out sometime over the summer hopefully. My only question is in regards to the Vit-D content for a Floridian such as myself who is out in the sun quite a bit. I'll spend hours and hours at the beach multiple days/week usually and then more time playing tennis.Latest Reviews:

That's a hell of a drastic change lol. Awesome that you seen what you wanted and went for it. Some people may be afraid of losing the gains, but you gained some thing else for yourself.
Curious, which way does your body feel better? 245(assuming mostly solid mass), or 195 going the workout/endurance route? Like two different worlds from an outside view.Trust the Process

When constantly training for endurance you can actually run into potentially larger joint issues then you do even with weights. All sorts of issues come on both sides, it will likely depend largely on a persons genetics which suits them better. Also a bit of luck, not pulling or straining a muscle/tendon/etc.

That's why I am curious^^^^^^
Both cause their own wear and tear. Not every day you get a chance to ask a guy who has been to both extremes in terms of training/doing. In for LeDrew answer!

VERY cool!
You are doing GREAT!
I know what you mean. Recently I did a Half Ironman at 230, mostly muscle and another at 200. Big difference!
Even more of a difference, a long time ago I used to race at 155lbs.
MUCH faster at 155lbs but I like being 200+ much better. lol.

I feel more energetic, less need for naps, etc... at a lower body weight for sure. I don't know if it is ideal health wise to be 240lbs+ even at a decent body fat %. That muscle requires a lot of energy and I question the strain on the heart, etc... I'm sure it is better than the avg. human we see these days, but in terms of optimum health and longevity I would say a lower body weight is def. an advantage.
My immune system also seems to be most awesome since the weight loss despite the intense endurance training. I figured the Triathlons, marathon and half marathons would def. cost me a few sick days, but this is the least sick I have been in a long time. Honest.
Joint wise, it's possible I am better off these days as well even with the training toll. I'm sure extra body weight has to be one of the hardest things on joints.
Thankfully, I don't really have joint issues anyways... could be diet and supplement related as I get a lot of anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant nutrients. No specific joint products except for some AOR Advanced Joint Support very rarely. Quality products with stuff like Curcumin, Fish oil, D3, Powergrape, green tea and extracts, Ortho Core and much more all help I am sure... SAMe regularly might also be a benefit.
Holy man... what height? 230lbs is nuts for a half... great job Crowler... we def. have similar interests.
A big part of this for me is my passion in applying nutrition and supplementation to optimum health and performance. I did this in bb'ing and now to test out things for endurance. This way I can find out what really works and truely be able to say I walk the walk in varied settings from the weight room in anerobic activity to aerobic activities in the water or on the bike. I love the challenges and as I am sure you are well aware, for someone who isn't 150lbs it isn't easy pushing the limits of performance and endurance.
Sometimes I feel like I am in a constant battle between the bb'er and the endurance athlete... 2 very different physiological adaptations and my body feels pretty confused sometimes. lol
I'm around 206-208lbs now so I have lost muscle and fat, but I am willing to lose even more muscle for some extra performance gains... at least for this summer. We'll see after that, but I'd like to see what 190lbs feels like in a race or two. It can be hard mentally to see the muscle and strength disapear, but I also know it can come back fairly quick when you do things right.
Here for the BioForge!

I was kinda thinking that(minus the joint part). I unfortunately got some joint "discomfort." Been taking fish oil, anti oxidents, and a few other goodies to help. Most of my supps are geared toward health. I figured only joints that could possibly be worse was knees. Awesome it's all going good for you man. Thanks for the response. Good luck with future races/triathlons.

Appreciate the kind words. I'm working my ass off in the gym and just hoping all the hard work and sacrifice, time and money all pays off with some good efforts.
I'm in this thread because looking at the BioForge profile it seems perfectly geared for health and performance for athletes in many disciplines. Looks like it could be an industry leader in that regard imo.
