I leave the PS4 paused all the time, it must be logging those hours? I didn't play these games nearly that much (except maybe Hades lol).

Might be #1 thing about Japanese games/companies that I hate. They always seem to keep the timer running when you're paused so it's impossible to know how long you actually played some of these games sometimes.

Might be #1 thing about Japanese games/companies that I hate. They always seem to keep the timer running when you're paused so it's impossible to know how long you actually played some of these games sometimes.

Yeah my single playthrough of Persona 5 Royal probably took 120 hours and the in game clock said several times longer than that. Annoyed me a bit bc P5R is such a famously long game I was curious how long it really took me, guess we'll never know.

I think Sony has gotten better at tracking actual gameplay but it may still not be exact. I never turn my soncoles off and it looks like I have the equivalernt of like 3 or 4 years of play time on The Last of US Remasted. All my stats from PS5 (posted above) seem fairly accurate though taking into account I now often work from home and am playing, ah chit phone call, put controller down, come back and hour later, not sure how easy it is to track stuff like that.

Still waiting for Bongo to post his. InB4 most played game, 4 hours.

I’m not a fan of the fighter they chose for the cover of this years installment they should’ve used Nate Diaz. UFC game so I’ll add to my library.

Yea, much better than the main game IMO. Might even play through this stand alone again.

As I've gotten older it seems like I have less patience for games that have a lot of depth in terms of a learning curve.

Witcher 3 for example, it just seems too open ended and like you need too much time invested to really understand how the game works. Same with Divinity OS 2.

The last games I remember truly enjoying all the way through due to simple gameplay and a good story were TLOU 2, Uncharted series, and God of War.

Recently completed Mass Effect 1 as well.


Do you guys have any suggestions for something I might enjoy?

I guess the idea is I'm bored of getting too deep into a game, just want something that's easy to pick up and has a good story. On PC for example I enjoyed WoW even though it was grindy.

I will wrap up Death Stranding tomorrow most likely and highly recommend it. Story is a bit out there but presentation is top notch.

Elden Ring Pre-ordered.

I never pre-order but From are my favorite and all the hands on previews have been incredibly positive and (critically) said the performance on PS4 has been extremely good.

I'd still like to play it on PS5 if I can get one, but they're including both versions for $60 so I've got a month to snag one lol.

Playing my first ever God of War game in my life (God of War 2018).

It plays and looks great enhanced with PS5.

The beginning was AMAZING. Troll fight and then the battle with a Norse god "stranger" who I'm guessing is Loki. Loved that you hit him and he flys through the trees. Gives you a real sense of a "god battle."

Quit right after the battle at my house so will be going at it again tomorrow.

I saw a lot of people bitch about the kid and I get the complaints. At the same time it's helpful to press square and he shoots the enemy. He also treats his son like complete dogchit lol.

Sure I'm missing out on a lot of story hopping in this game without playing any of the others but the older games look too dated.

Excited you get to experience it. Great game and I was never a GoW fan before this title. If you are the poster I think you are your road to PS i kinda like mine, being an Xbox guy then discovering everything I missed out on. A true plethora of great titles. I just started UC4 last night.

The kid does get annoying as you go one, really annowying lol.... well at least in my opinion, I don't like children though.

Yeah, at the time there weren't any exclusives I wanted to play & I had other ways to spend the money so I didn't go for it.

Now it's a year+ later, the games I want are coming out, and there's still a supply issue lol. So it goes.

You're in for an absolute treat, what a game.

Narratively you're supposed to be annoyed by Atreus at the start, since you are in the role of Kratos. I think the game does a good job of conveying that thru the plot AND gameplay. I agree with mgftp that it gets a little old by the end but nowhere near as overdone as babysitting Ellie in TLOU (seriously just grab her a pool floatie from the nearest walmart). The plot absolutely nails this narrative - pay attention to when he actually calls Atreus by his name as opposed to "boy". This hits different when you're a parent of course.

There are only a few boss fights but most of them are amazing - I read something that the complexity of creating the boss fights prevented them from doing too many of them, they favored quality over quantity. There's an optional endgame tuned boss that's one of the best and hardest in all of gaming, don't miss it.

Going against the grain here I felt like the newest GOW did well in terms of telling a story and having characters with good relationships. However lagged behind other installments in many ways. It was a really good game for me but not great. Felt like it was rushed somewhat. Also I hated the kid.

I really want to play elden ring and horizon. Have a ps4 but ps5 is coming in March so I can either start one on ps4 or just play other games in the meantime.
Will be exhausting when these games are out but try my best to wait for the PS5, graphics and frame rates will be significantly better.

I am in this camp. I guess it's all a matter of taste and preference but I am boggles how anyone can say combat on 2018 is worse. The only thing I don't like it the default difficulty but Sony is doing this with all their big titles now , basically making normal super easy mode. UC4 on Crushing, TLoU on Grounded, HZD on Ultra Hard, and GoW on Give me God of War are different gameplay experiences than the default difficulties.

I guess fun is subjective. I felt like the camera angle of the fights left me feeling uncomfortable and awkward alot of the time. Kratos took up much of my view and I felt that was done because of how graphic heavy the world was. It even made the combat feel clunky and slow for me and Gow 3 felt faster and smoother. Adding to that, I wasn't a big fan of the level design in this one, the locations felt too much like one small boring room leading to another small boring room. The mobs were simplistic and not very varied. The boss fights were awful. Brb a ton of reskinned trolls and ogres and very few unique bosses. Game felt somewhat of a chore to play. I don't know...it was a good game but it didn't captivate me like the others.

Horizon Forbidden Goat deluxe digital edition pre-ordered... hnnnnnghhh. Dying Light 2 and Sifu will be bought on how well it reviews.



Will be flying out again on the 24th, so that gives me 7-14 days of mandatory quarantine rotting to play Horizon, Deep Rock Galactic and the other games completely uninterrupted without having to deal with any irl chit. Cannot wait lmao.
