I kind of thought this episode sucked. I don't want to hear "true love brings us together" BS. Get back to the island!

At first i was thinking just like you are. I wanted to see less love, more smokey wrecking shiz on the island. But they had to do this episode to show us how the time lines intercede, and people can be "changed" into thinking that its true. Good concept.

But i hear ya man, usually when an episode takes place mostly off the island...i am dissapoint.

I also really want to know what these rules are everyone keeps talking about. Ben's daughter dies and he says Charles 'changed the rules'. Eloise tells Desmond that what he's doing is 'forbidden'. MiB gets yelled at by some mystery kid who says that killing Jacob was against the rules. So WTF are these rules!

desmond is now the new jacob. with the manifest he wants to meet with the rest of losties and influence them so the they make necesary coices for the two time lines to meet

yeah i mean he has the same role as jacob in the alternate reality. so chances are that we might get a surprise and find out that desmond is the key to everything being jacobs replacement.

i think the rules have to deal with justice and morality. im taking a philosophy class and we were talking about Thomas Hobbes natural law of justice and how its a contract between man not to harm or be harmed. seems to tie in with lost and these "rules"

Desmond is now aware of both timelines.

He probably has some level of clairvoyance now. Desmond = Dr. Manhattan essentially. He probably already knows his entire future.

Desmond's been saying it as much as he can, haha. What's so crazy about this time is that after Jack said it, Desmond said "I guess you will" hinting at the fact that they meet again this past episode.

It looks to me like Widmore is goign to use Desmond to kill MIB. We know (at least we think we know) that the electro magnetic fences are the only thing (besides ash) that can keep MIB out. So I'm assuming they are going to try to trap him in a circle of the pylons, and since Desmond is the only one who can survive it, will be sent in to kill MIB.
