Lettuce be cereal. Joey rubbed some mods the wrong way, and some of them in a big way. Given some of the pettier things that have initiated mod action (retaliation?) on this site, it's not like I'm out in left field thinking that someone would have an axe to grind with Joey. Whether or not that was the intent here, there is overwhelming circumstantial evidence to believe that the decision was not purely objective and that personal bias played a large part.

Out of curiosity, what forum rule was violated by that thread?

If I recall correctly, no aspect of the conversation was exposing anyone's personal information (full name, address, SSN, etc). It was a conversation between two parties - the one which is dead and the other which provided consent for it to be published.

More troubling is that the intent of that thread was solely to draw attention to the matter such that it would be more thoroughly investigated, as currently the police are not considering it a murder case.

Given Joey's past conflicts with the moderation team on this site, it's hard not to see this as a biased decision that was done purely out of spite under the thin guise of an 'erring on the side of caution'.

For the love of all that is good - this isn't someone ranting about why they got banned. Joey is DEAD.

AS A REQUEST: Show a little respect and maybe for once err on his side. Consider it the last favor you would do for a dead man. I doubt you can otherwise impact his life or memory in any other positive means.

It was great meeting all his family/friends.

Meeting his family put this all in perspective. It's disappointing that his death is what brought us all together but I guess that's the way it goes sometimes.

I thing getting him on here and showing him how much his brother was loved will really help him a lot. He was talking about the great work you guys are putting in to try and help his family. I didn't know Joey. But I have heard a lot from my fiance and friends and they we a like in many ways. Tommy would be a great comic addition for you all. He is who I go to when i have something funny to show or looking for a witty come back.
