This is Misc logic. On the one hand they will question your age and height or lifts, but then when you prove it to them they say it doesn't matter. I didn't know he was 56 until I read this thread.

Why is there an inclination to tear people down instead of building them up. Try the latter and you will enjoy life more because others will reciprocate and build you up.

I saw a 165 72 year old man bench 405 and deadlift 600. When you get to that stage ill be impressed. But at least you lift. more than most can say around here

I saw a 165 72 year old man bench 405 and deadlift 600. When you get to that stage ill be impressed. But at least you lift. more than most can say around here

There was a guy named Leon who was 72 and worked out at a powerlifting gym my friend used to own. Don't know what his deadlift was but he was asked to train with the Olympic Weightlifting team. Then he hurt his back and started to focus on bench press.

The gym would regularly have contests. Leon did a pause rep at 365lbs on bench. Then, IIRC his next lift he tore his tricep. Didn't want to go to the hospital because he said he wanted to watch the rest of the competition. Toughest guy I ever knew.

Very nice. I think if you set yourself up a bit tighter and worked on your triceps you'd be repping 15-20 in no time, there was still a lot of power left at the bottom half of the movement at the end.
