When he stands there and reads a script he sounds like a fcking tool, like a child reading in class.
He does 100X better when he just speaks off script, in fact when he speaks by reading a script I can't even listen to him, its fcking annoying..
So much more energetic when he speaks off the cuff and so much more believable and genuine as well...

To Trump’s credit, at least he doesn’t literally read and say out loud “end of quote” the way creepy Joe did. Lmao.
This above all..
To thine ownself be true..
And it must follow, as the night the day..
Thou can'st not then be false to any man..

Modern presidents utilize speechwriters and even the old time ones like Lincoln and Roosevelt prepared their notes ahead of time, and likely bounced them off cabinet members over scotch and cigars.
I think there's times when a President needs to assert their own feelings and not come off like a robot. I can't imagine any speechwriter ever suggesting "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall" or any speechwriter thinking a sitting President would shed tears during a speech about gun control.
But when Trump goes off on a tangent, you never know where he's gonna go, and it's usually an attack on someone along with being a victim of the media, which is getting old.Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

It happens a lot but there were two particularly memorable times when I hosted guest speakers for big student groups who had amazing, exciting backgrounds, but their speeches were horrible, dry, stilted, boring... and then they were dynamic and compelling in answering questions. In response to questions, they both launched into long stories that enraptured the audience. I thought why couldn't they have done that for their speech.
George W Bush was like that. His speeches were terrible, but he was quite cool in one-on-one interviews when he let his guard down (some interviews he was in boring speech mode). I remember him talking with Bob Costas at the Olympics and he was quick-minded and rattled off issues with a real command. A quick google only found this one short part of it:

keep in mind that what was released today was the tip of the iceberg and there will be a slow drip for weeks
Queue the American National Republican Choir to sing "Thou Must Looketh at Our Fake Biden Videos"
Followed by "Lest Ye Regardeth Faketh News"
and wrapping up with "What Thou Beholds is Not True"Last edited by startingat56; 09-09-2020 at 04:46 PM. Reason: stoopid

Is this what you do? Sit around watching political interviews and getting mad? Rushing to the internet to post snarky comments? What kind of life is that??
How about you read up on some good news from your own country? Or go outside and participate in some activity that doesn't necessitate you desperately trying to prove to strangers on the internet how smart you are.RWGFY

As I pay significant taxes to the U.S. I feel I have every right to comment on the going’s on in America
Some may disagree
And yes, I do spend more time on CPAC and CSPAN than most people .... but .... unlike most people I see partisanship as a fools game. I want to take the best from all parties and no one gets my allegiance.
If you have significant investments, you should be aware of what is going on ..... if you have no financial stake, you can shout bumper sticker slogans like a face painted fan in the arena and treat politics like pro wrestling
Snarky is what I do
You should wonder why I am able to snarkI don't necessarily agree with everything I say.

Not sure if you have been paying attention the last five years. I mean, this is the guy who.....
...denigrates our war heroes and mocks their service.
...brags about groping/molesting women.
...calls women vulgar names when they challenge him.
...calls anyone who disagrees with him abhorrent nicknames.
...accused a political pundit of murder.
...talks about being in love with a dictator.
...told us all that he trusts Putin more than our own Military Intel.
...touts that he could shoot a person right outside a busy street and not lose one voter.
...said that white supremacists are good people.
I could go all day here.
Nothing will stick. He is the textbook definition of a cult leader and his minions will not let him down.
