How about a nice chopper ride through Brooklyn?

I know I'm not in the correct age bracket but you cant post a bike thread and not expect a few youngins!
I'm also a fan of streetbikes that have had heart poured into them:

I love rigids and will eventually build one, but can't stand springer front ends. They look cool but the ride is $hitty and I swear the handling is horrible with them. Here's a couple pics of my toys.
Wifes 2009 Ninja
My 96 HD Wideglide, have had this thing torn down to the bare frame a couple times and don't think it will ever truly be finished.
Myself doing a burnout aboard my 04 R1 outside of the Buell factory in East Troy Wi.
I need to update my pics of the R1, this is from 4-5 years ago, have changed a few more items on it since then.

Nice bikes, Greg! And Immuno, you have the right idea, just shorten [image] to [img] and [/image] to [/img], and you're gold.
Here's a cool clip from the film "Choppertown: From The Vault"
You can rent it, and the one that came before, "Choppertown: The Sinners" from Amazon.Last edited by IronCharles; 06-16-2021 at 12:38 AM.

One interesting (and controversial) aspect of riding: Lane splitting. Here in Oregon, it's illegal. But in Cali and elsewhere, it's not. I remember being stuck in slow traffic in the North Bay area, around Martinez, and we got split on both sides by a pack of H.A. heading towards Oakland. Pretty risky on a big hog, but narrow bars are popular in areas where splitting is legal. Personally, I'm a little too cautious in my old age to do any dangerous stuff like that. But some people are crazy:
and some people are really crazy!

I think a lot of that has to do with the members of the clubs. The 1%ers have generally earned their reputations, but for the other 99%ers that ride, they tend to go out of their way to mimic the 1%ers. Its the same thing as the young kids that go out of their way to dress like they are escaped convicts. If you keep making a point to present yourself as something...sooner or later people are going to think you are that thing. There are a lot of RC's around here that go out of their way to look like a full on 1%er group.
If you dress like a cop, people will mistake you for a cop
if you dress like a robber, people will mistake you for a robber

Very astute observation. In the video, the 1%ers are the minority. Yet, they are also the most aggressive in the whole encounter as it unfolds. But I agree, why try to mimic the outlaws, while expecting different treatment? The average guy on the street couldn't tell the good guys from the bad guys in that group. And it's not a coincidence thet the cops could.
