Ladies and Visiting Gentleman,
The below is just based on my experiences....
I'd like your input on ethnic curiousity. Just got back from the gym. And for the millionith time in my lifetime I was asked by a gentleman what my ethnicity was. Not the first time I have been asked at the gym either. Usually it doesn't just end with the question and answer. Usually I am asked more questions following. And sometimes, it leads to asking me out or a guy having interest in me and sometimes not. In any case, sometimes females ask me this question but no where in comparison to the males. I would say 95% of the time it always males who approach me and ask my ethnicity. Honestly, it kind of makes me nervous because I don't want to potentionally be asked out...lol
Perhaps its circumstantial....but it makes me wonder...Do you all think that males are more curious about other ethnicities/cultures in general?...or that its part curiosity but mostly just an excuse to approach a lady....
Ladies, do you often or ever just randomly approach a guy (or female) with a curiosity of what his (her) ethnicity is? ...I dont know maybe females are just as curious but simply think it in their head instead of randomly approaching guys....
Would love ladies and visting gentlemans opinions....thanks!

I get asked about my ethnicity a lot. I guess I have a unique look and can pass for a lot of things so yes, I think many of the men that ask you are genuinely curious if you also confuse the fukk out of people like I do lol.
But is it an excuse to talk to you? It could be that too. But I wouldn't call it "an excuse". You could call it an opener or a conversation piece. If I'm talking to an Asian girl I'll always try to guess exactly what kind of Asian she is because I'm pretty good distinguishing and if I'm right or even close, she'll be impressed and it'll make me look better.
So if you do have a look that's unique, exotic or confusing then I would say yes and yes.. a little of each. If you post a pic of yourself (preferably nude) I can confirm.Sept of Baelor was an inside job. Wildfire can't melt stone masonry.

I get asked occasionally. Depends on the time of year and how dark I am.
Don't know what you look like OP, but if you have some combination that is not expected (like darker skin but light eyes for example) ppl get curious.
I don't approach strangers and ask "what are you?" b/c I think it is rude. People have varying levels of comfort when talking about their race so I try to respect that.
I'm with the others--prob a combo of flirting and being genuinely curious.

Thanks all I enjoyed reading y'alls input. To be honest...I really do believe it is genuine curiousity on the males part (I dont want y'all to think everytime a guy asks me this question I get asked out..not the case).....and I know I look "different" so it is understandable..plus its an opportunity to expand anothers knoweldge on other types of people......so it had just made me wonder because its rare in comparison to males that females ask so I was thinking is it males are more curious in general than women about ethnicity/culture/race.... or curious about ethnicity but also helps for approaching chicks lol....so i thought id ask what yall thought..thanks :-)

The men on this board bring so many lulz to threads. But OP I think it's just innocent curiosity.
I have an accent and I study in the U.S so I get asked all the time where I'm from.
Being different intrigues people, be proud
I'm guilty of asking people where they're from(based on their looks) because I sincerely like meeting/talking to other people from different cultures. But maybe the guy's are hitting on you? Nothing bad about it I think..?When people show you who they are, believe them the first time.

OK, everyone who mentioned being asked their ethnicity or being mistaken for one thing or another are hereby obligated to
1. Say what your actual ethnicity/heritage is.
2. List all the things you've been mistaken for.
Ill go first.
1. My parents are from Afghanistan. I was actually born there as well but I've been in the US since I was a toddler.
2. Latino, Greek, Italian, Jewish, Portuguese and when I was younger, before my nose "developed" lol, I was often mistaken for just a regular white dude.
btw, if you fail to answer you WILL be negged (srs)Sept of Baelor was an inside job. Wildfire can't melt stone masonry.
