Lol at thinking they had the nutrition to get those physiques. They are sculpted representations of the perfect male form, it doesn't mean the average person had that body. In fact, it would be far from it. Do you know what the average rations for a soldier were in 300BC? I imagine it didn't include a lot of protein.

they lived. srs, their lifes were simply more active. they didnt actually look like that though, those sculptures are very exaggerated

More active lifestyle, weight training, eating tons of meat and vegetables and hardly any grains, etc.
When bows became common in England (1000's AD), the draw on a bow would be anywhere from 90-180lbs, and they had to draw that bow fast to shoot their arrows efficiently. The average was 140lbs draw. Modern recurve bows have somewhere between 30-45lb draw, compound bows are usually around 50lbs. Being an archer was the most common thing in the military at the time.
Therefore, the average person was 2-4 times stronger than people now.

they didn't eat like ****. as we all learned the hard way, diet is most important. also i know a lot of other sculptures from this era were exaggerated so I wouldn't be surprised if they added a few lbs. of stone here and there.
