1 = 1
0.999 = 0.999
The algebra is wrong in that meme, 0.999 recurring, when you multiply by 10 = it shifts 1 place over the decimal point. So even though its recurring, when you multiply it by 10, the recurring shifts 1 space to the left infinitely.
Therefore you can't subtract it and get a whole number, e.g. 9 because its 9.9999 recurring infinitely, and 0.9999 recurring infinitely where the 9.9... is always infinity + 1 recurring sequence ahead."You must show no mercy, nor have any doubt whatsoever. For your greatness shall silence them all."

You speak of 0.999 recurring as if it was an ongoing process in time. It is not. It is infinitely expressed, but finitely sized, and is indistinguishable from 1. Nothing is approaching anything, nothing is an ongoing process. Nobody has every been able to describe the mathematical difference between it and 1.

Recurring means its a constant .99 to infinity. When you multiply it by 10, it shifts 1 space over the decimal point, infinitely. Therefore when you take away the original recurring sequence from the multiplied one, you will always be left with the recurring that was multiplied being 1 sequence ahead of the original recurring.
e.g. if you named each 9 in the sequence as 1, 2, 3, 4, etc to infinity, the multiplied number 9.999 will always be 1 number ahead than the 0.999 sequence"You must show no mercy, nor have any doubt whatsoever. For your greatness shall silence them all."

Oh look. Math made by humans being manipulated AGAIN.
Using the example of 1/3 of water.... Sorry but 1/3+1/3+1/3 = 3/3 = 1.
Congrats you can manipulate numbers by using specific formulas that get the answer you want.
Isn't there also one that proves 1 = 2?
But obviously 1 cup of water does NOT equal 2 cups of water.

Why are you saying sorry, as if your assertion is contradicting something? That's the entire point of the example.

please, do what nobody has ever been able to do and actually quantify the difference between 0.999... and 1.Feathered Nether Regions
