Overall I can't really give difinitive answers on everything. If you're buying it all as a package, it's difficult since the seller may value that bench press stand as more than it should be worth. Money is better spent on a squat cage, a sumo cage, or Powertec's half-cage... then you can do all exercises with such a device, including benching, and you have spotter arms to go to failure and to protect yourself if you slip up or faint.

Personally if I wanted all of that together, assuming the barbell and ez bar aren't some special brand or quality (and assuming the condition of everything is very good), then I'd be offering somewhere in the range of $1200 to $1800. Try to cut a deal without buying the bench press stand. The seller may be looking for a fair bit more if he's valuing everything relatively high (ex. if he paid $900 + tax for his plates, and $1300 + tax for his multi unit, and so on); if he's looking for a ton of cash don't even bother. If you *really* want the stuff, coming up to $1800 isn't unreasonable, though you'd have to be sure there's no damage. I am tossing around numbers here, so rethinking this you may want to extend or bring down your maximum offer line.

The multi unit (the big thing) is about $1300 new. That weight in plates is about $800 new. The bench is about $200-250 new. The only two barbells in the pictures that matter are probably together about $100-$180 new together (assuming they're generic). The bench press stand is a few hundred, not exactly sure how much new... but rather worthless in my opinion.

Assuming you're getting everything listed in the four pictures you posted, then you aren't likely to find a deal like that in a long while. That's a very good deal.

I'd recommend you purchase a squat rack after this. And if you can, dumbbbells. A high/low pulley is nice too. If you managed to throw all of that in with what you're already buying, you'd have an absolutely insane gym.

As things stand right now, you will have lots to do. I recommend you keep everything including the bench, but sell the bench press stand.

The best next purchases would be:
    1) a squat rack
    2) dumbbells (or an adjustable dumbbell such as a Powerblock or Ironmaster)
    3) a high/low pulley

You're quite lucky to have found the deal that you did. You're getting a lot of stuff. The plates sweeten that deal so much.

Yes, you should take it. You would be better off with a bench and a rack than with a bench press and a leverage machine, but you can sell that stuff and pay for what you need. 800 pounds of weight is good to have.
You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

For what it's worth, in the Eastern PA area, I see the Powertec Multi Gym going for about $600 by itself on Craigslist. You could flip that and the bench pretty quickly. I don't notice the benches going up for sale as often, but I'm guessing you might be able to get $100 for that. Depending on your needs, you could keep the weights, or sell some or all of them. I'm not saying you should get rid of them, but you could use the proceeds to fund a power rack, which would be a more effective and space-efficient piece of equipment than either the bench or the Multi Gym.

I said 450-500 before I read any responses, but that was with the following in mind:

    (1) The curl bars are worth nothing
    (2) 800# of weight at 35-40 cents/lb
    (3) 150-200 for the bench press setup and bar
    (4) Zero for the leverage system as I consider it a monstrosity in a home gym area, but......selling it for 450-500 would get you your money back in full

I've gotten $25-30 for Oly curl bars. Oly plates around here go for 50 cents a pound and the bench press bench, without bar, could go for $100, maybe more since it's P-tec. The leverage system probably would get $400-500, but it's a hard sell.

It's amazing hearing these numbers. Makes me jealous.

Here in the Vancouver area of Canada, BC, the Powertec multi gym would be at least $700 used in the condition it's showing. And it would be a relatively smooth sale. An Oly bar would be an easy $60. And plates are an easy 65 cents minimum per pound if they are in good condition.

Too many people visit gyms around here, and too few own/buy gyms.

In eastern NC, the multigym just recently was posted for $350 and another was posted on CL for $650 w/ 750 lbs of plates. If you have extra room for one they would be nice, but a hard sell because of size. I was going to say offer $650 and go up to $800. Buy it if you have the room to use, or room to store and flip (which may take a little while).

    Good luck.

it may benefit you to ask the seller where the spotter arms for the powertec 1/2 rack are (pictures 3 and 4).

there should be spotter arms, the problem is with that older model even with the unusually high height of the bench the spotter arms, even at their lowest setting, interfered with people touching the bar to their chest doing flat bench presses.

have him try to rustle them up.

May be true on the bars from the seller's perspective.

From my perspective as a buyer "the curls bars are worthless" meaning that I am not adding money to my offer based on them.

$600 is a great deal. That is a lot of equipment there. Most of the time on CL here in NE, the Powertec Multi unit alone goes for about $550-$600. Nice find.

$600 is a good deal. In my area thats the asking price for just the multi (and sometimes 300 lbs of weights). If you're happy with the equipment and have the room, nothing wrong with keeping and using them. Otherwise, sell the multi and the 1/2 rack (try to get the spotter arms) and get a power rack. I'd try to keep the Powetec bench as they aren't bad imo and you'll need a bench anyway.

Well guys I bought the gym. Ended up paying him 50 buck to deliver this beast. It is big as hell but i got a unfinished basement so no issues there. Im gonna put it together tomorrow and if I dont like it after a few weeks back on CL it goes. Thanks for all you guys input on this. Was kinda nervous to ask because im new here

These are exactly what I worked on after herniating l5 s1. Basically you'd want to avoid flexion based movements like situps, crunches, reverse crunches.

Lots of bodyweight things like superman, bird dog, reverse hyper from a swiss ball...can help build up your legs and lower back which can also help.
