Just wondering what you guys use at the gym that is affordable.
My first pair:
http://www.amazon.com/Creative-Labs-.../dp/B000EGJZ2O
These were great, they rocked. Lasted about 2 years before I broke the cord.
Second pair:
http://www.amazon.com/Koss-KE29E-Iso...6722170&sr=1-2
These sounded good, not as good as the CL's. Just threw them away yesterday after 1yr of use. I guess I got too much sweat into the volume slider and it started screwing up the volume. Also they had that annoying J shaped cord that I taped down and the tape melted all over the place and I couldnt get it off, so I tossed them.
Third pair:
http://www.amazon.com/Ifrogz-EarPoll...6722336&sr=1-1
Got these from Walmart yesterday for $10. No bass. Highs sound very flat. A bit disappointed, but I did only pay $10...

Skullcandy sells some earbuds in the $20 range that work well (i forget if it's the ink'd line or the smokin' line. I've had both). They're not superb, but better than anything else I've had for gym / running

Fyi, if you buy at Best Buy, you can try them out and return whatever you don't like. Just keep your receipt. They sell a good warranty too for cheap. I bought 4 pairs and ened up returning all but some Sonys after running with them all.

by far one of the best budget headphones. i always recommend these on the misc and the brahs report back satisfied.
OP get these. a lot of great reviews on amazon. i don't like earbuds, so these are hella comfy.
two things that stick out:
1) great/ clear sound (best sound to price ratio, people say they sound like 100 dollar headsets. srs)
2) LIFETIME WARRANTY, yes i broke a set after a year (frayed wire from carrying them everywhere... new set sent within a week)
hope you're into the retro look too... lol
would recommend/10

Also, I recommend you invest more money into GOOD headphones so you don't have to keep paying $20 here and $10 there. I was lucky enough to get my Skullcandy Full Metal Jacket's (Gold version) for $40 instead of $110 during Christmas time.“Go back?" he thought. "No good at all! Go sideways? Impossible! Go forward? Only thing to do! On we go!" So up he got, and trotted along with his little sword held in front of him and one hand feeling the wall, and his heart all of a patter and a pitter.”

I bought about 5 pairs of these very cheaply from eBay. Pretty decent and so cheap they are almost disposable.

Nah brah dish out an extra $20 and get these....
They are called YurBuds. Sweat and water resistant. The designer actually made them for triathletes. They lock in your ear, don't move, and have a great sound. Durable as hell. Awesome for training.

Nice to hear man!
Yeah, everything definitely went better than expected when I received them. Was kinda skepticalhippo from the looks of it... but they seriously blew me away, especially for the price + lifetime warranty*.
*$8 for S/H for new ones... mine broke after 16 months and got new ones right away.

Hmm, I see your logic (I buy super cheap--hell, my current ones dont have any pads on them and sound terrible.) I have been on the fence about getting nicer ones and here are the two arguments I have with myself:
1. My La Costa sunglasses, more $$ than I would ever spend on sunglasses but they held up to billions of drops, sitting on them, jumbled in my purse, etc and dont have a single scratch. So the better quality actually held up to my beating waaaay better than the super cheap ones. Side note-- I left them at the Indy 500 after having them for 2 years-f/me. I didnt really take any better care of them.
2. Will any buds ever stand up to me randomly pulling them out of my purse and having them get caught on my wallet, etc and having the bud pop off, or getting them caught in my spokes on the bike and popping off the buds like popcornWhat's Spicy Training For?? LIFE MOTHER F-ER!

If you buy skull candy, make sure to put a drop of super glue on them. For whatever reason, the glue they use to keep them together is absolute garbage. Saves you the rage moment when you rip your ipod out of your gym bag and only half the earbud is left.
