This. Although you may put some time and effort into dressing yourself, you don't wanna look like you thought about how your belt and watch would match either. Kinda goes against the whole GTH attitude that prep embodies.
Also, Workaholics is fuucking hilarious. New episodes later this month.

I can't find any ****ing sweaters I like locally and I'm not buying one online because I'm way too damn picky on how it fits. We'll get some in at work soon though, I'll get something with my macys money and pay next to nothing for it. I love buying stuff but I hate spending money.

Is it me or are they somewhat dirty?
@EMartNJ
What pants do you plan on wearing with your coat? I've only worn my peacoat with dark blue jeans, black slacks and my black and gray suits.
I've never tried to use khakis with it but it doesn't look bad on your picture.
Personally, I can't go back to jeans, chinos are way more comfortable.

Looks good man, I'm jelly. College living means I only have half my full wardrobe or less at any given time... I'm stuck wearing boots, nice jeans, and a tee until I get home and get my fall wear.
Might get a bit dressier for tomorrow though, we'll see. Thinking boots, chinos, and blue/white patterened button down with a fleece vest.-LUMH

In on my first ever s&p thread. Feelsgoodman. Lost a good bit of weight with spring/summer cut so hoping new found aesthetics + s&p will = profitz. I'm ridiculously new to this. My wardrobe consists of suits, workout clothes, and barely anything in between. So outside of oxfords/stacy adam shoes i'm in jordans... Nervous about buying a pair of sperry's. Don't want to feel like i'm on dat dere ****gy time.

So don't get ****gy boat shoes, just get something plain. I have the LL Bean boats, I think they're called Casco Bay Boat Mocs or something along those lines. Classic look, extremely comfortable, will be buying again. Recently I've had my eye on some Johnston and Murphys though...
Edit: you've got yourself a good plan. As far as boots go, Bean Boots are a must for the style IMO.-LUMH

I love my Banana Republic jeans, and the Eddie Bauers I'm wearing right now are pretty comfortable/look nice. I like some Levis I've seen, too.
Edit: GC, those look pretty cool. Odd how I would have to end up getting 31x34 but oh well. Their website mentions using "alternate methods" to washing with water to get a more unique look and feel; any ideas what they might be? I've heard that doing a denim only wash with hot water and medium to large pebbles/rocks can get jeans nice and soft but have never tried it myself.Last edited by LUMountainHawk; 09-07-2011 at 08:02 AM.

I started lifting in May of this year after being a skinny ****g, so I'm not entirely sure that the way they fit me in the ass and thighs will be the same as the way they fit you.
That being said I've still got a decent amount of room, and the legs aren't ridiculous at the ankle. I think these are like "classic" fit or possibly the "straight" fit. Whichever one they are, the other had a bit more room.
Edit: for the record, they fit better in the crotch than my BR jeans do...more room for the kick stand to breathe, nomsayin? strong no homo-LUMH

I have a RL Black Label jacket that I adore and wear all fall/winter. I destroyed my black "casual" shoes and everything black that I have is way too formal.
I'm thinking of getting these: http://www.neimanmarcus.com/store/ca...ditorial=false
BUT, I was wondering if I can wear these with the jacket also, or is this way too informal:

+1 on Levis 501 stf and also 505. Eventually I'll pick up a pair of APC New Standards as my "nice" jeans. Also have a pair of BB denim.
S&P (preppy, etc) is the style of choice ITT but we are all fashion conscious too and enjoy generally anything that looks good. Research the different looks out there and see what you like. Just remember the golden rule: fit is everything and find a good tailor. If you don't want to go full-prep with Sperrys try an alternative like driving loafers. Have confidence that you are dressing better than your friends and you won't be on that dat derr ****gy time.---
