for ****s sake when will people realise that rugby tackles are completely different from NFL tackles, NFL hits = running full tilt at someone and launching yourself into them in any means to take them down. Rugby(union) tackles = taking someone down who has the ball via hips or legs depending on what hemisphere you play. You can't even compare the two so would people stop saying rugby or nfl hits harder etc, the reason nfl guys wear pads and helmets is probably because they have 300lb guys launching themselves at head height towards themselves? Yeah I prefer rugby but to say NFL is not as alpha as rugby is pretty dumb, They are completely different sports. Totally different.

its a cult over here. you really have to be dedicated to play here and usually you play the same teams over and over.
its a good networking tool, i met some somoans that have a shipping company and people from fiji who have family on the island(possible trip in the future, depending on economy).
most people don't know what rugby is...........SRS. when you buy soccer shoes, the box will usually say...."also compatible for rugby".
i've never heard an american bash rugby in person because they don't know what the sport is....this is why i find it funny when i come in the misc and see so many americans bash it.
most americans bash as reciprocity for american football getting bashed by rugby fans.
i don't play either anymore because i'm not "young" and i don't have the resilience i once had.Last edited by vazquez; 03-20-2010 at 05:36 AM.

number of concussions in soccer is comparable to the number of concussions in football.

I find it really hard to believe that someone can call football (soccer boring). But it seems to be just a cultural preference i.e I find NFL boring to watch but do appreciate the level of alphaness that gos into it.
Ive grown up a liverpool fc fan and tbh it's like a reglion. Theres nothing better than seeing your team in an epic match
The 2005 champions league final was the greatest night of my life (very pathetic and sad to some lol), but the emotions I felt that night I dont think i'll ever feel again and its all down to 'soccer' (no homo)

Americans hate soccer because they are lazy and fat .. watching players run up and down the field is even to much exercise for them ... they allow football because they relate to the line men .. slow and fat.

Up to 120 minutes of solid running, unless you're a keeper.
NFL, stopping every 10 seconds, having 2 squads, 15 minute quarters?
Seems to me to play american football you just have to be stacked, and if you play WR, quick too.
Real football - where the ball is actually at your feet - requires a hell of a lot of skill, pace, and stamina. Also footballers don't have set plays that the manager writes down and tells them to do. All the thinking has to be done in real time on the pitch.
It may not be as physical, but it's a damn sight more mental.Spanish Dave for King.

dumbest **** I ever heard....You seriously cannot be that ignorant/dumb can you? Are you aware kids here play it from middle through college in the hops to make the nfl and only a small % of those players make it. Big and strong is not everything in D1 football/NFL...gtfo
you are a fatty youself(judging by your stats)...Ill bet any money I could run a mile/2 faster than you by a solid 2 mins...GTFO
fuk no esp if you play QB...the QB postion takes wayyyyyyyyyyyyy more metal ability than a fuking gay ass soccer player. Why are non americans so unaware than football is more than just being big, fast and strong?
also the constant stopping thing that non americans always bitch about is a joke...soccer is boring as shyt to watch most of the times even with your constant playing. Seriously nothing happens for most of the game typically.
Rugby is like D3/backyard football here. get real.
If you want constant action then watch hockey...has wayyy more shots on goal than soccer and lots of hits.Last edited by krocknw; 03-20-2010 at 07:18 PM.
