I looked at my milk today...every serving of 240ml (about 8-10oz) of milk has 150 calories and 8g of protein. I was wondering, are those the 2 main things I need in a weightgainer like CytoGainer?
I never realized it had that much calories and protein. That would mean that mixing it with cytogainer's 4 scoops in about 16-20oz of milk would increase calories by over 50%....about 600 to 900. Wtf. That's crazy. If I drank this twice a day, I'd get 1800 calories (and 140g of protein) without even eating a single crumb of anything. Will I get sick or go crazy?

Most 'quality' weight gainers are going to be somewhat low in sugar and will provide much higher protein content than milk.
Skim milk is 11-12 grams of carbohydrates (sugar) along with 8 grams of protein in 8 ounces. You would have to drink 6+ cups of milk in one sitting to get as much protein as a single 'gainer' shake. It would end up being 600+ calories; but would also probably lead to quite a bit of stomach discomfort.
Many people do mix their protein shakes or 'gainers' with milk to increase calories/protein though.
To answer your question directly, drinking a ton of milk and weight gainers will probably have you in the bathroom all day but you won't get "sick" or "go crazy" if you are already a healthy individual. Plenty of people on here have much more than 140 grams of protein and 1800 calories/day in shakes...Pro Strongman & Former National Champion

Mark Rippetoe recommends a gallon of milk a day to those looking to gain weight. He swears that Milk is one of the best "foods to grow" there is, as far as pricing goes. I don't believe in quoting someone blindly, but the man is definitely more educated about lifting, and nutrition than I am.

I'm definitely a milk addict, have been since I was a kid. Really, I'm a dairy junkie in general, so when I started BB'ing, it just worked out really well for me when it came to milk, cottage cheese and eggs. My holy Trinity.
I could drink a gallon a day, save for me trying to make a reasonable calorie allotment, but even on a cut I probably drink 4-6 cups a day. It'll easily be double that when I get ready to gain. I just need more veggies and fiber.
Also, if you want the calories, go for whole milk, which is dramatically more calorie dense because of the fat than skim. It is more sat fat, but if you make room for that, you're good. Throw in some natty PB or flax/fish oil and you're talking a calorie monster.

Well milk does have "sugar", but it's lactose, and apparently digests really slowly (I believe it was Layne who told me this), like over the course of several hours. Also, the protein in milk is about 20% whey, 80% casein, so the protein will also be very slowly digested. Perfect for anytime during the day.
