    Biceps Brachii Tendon

Hello everyone, im pretty sure this is just my genetics and there is nothing i can do about it but i thought i would ask for the hell of it.

Everytime i finish my Biceps workout i cant really bend my arm very far. the tendon between my bicep and forarms sticks up pretty far.

I know the overall growth and development connective tissue structures such as bone, ligaments, cartilage, and tendons will enhance their size to match the overall growth of the body but do tendons grow from working out?

I don't think tendons grow from working out. Strengthen? Definitely.

Are you sure it doesn't have to do with some preexisting injury you had?

Maybe try starting with some stretching exercises. Yeah tendons dont grow, they strengthen.

Usually, stretching exercises are recommended after an exercise. But in certain populations and conditions, stretching both before and after resistance training can serve it's purpose. In your situation, I would suggests that.

Also, go easy on the isolation exercises. Try doing more compound exercises that work the biceps, as opposed to hitting the biceps solely every time.

    just my .02 cents...
im gonna have to agree with the stretching thing. if u over did ur biceps a lot the tendons can be very tight. stretch em often. in a few weeks see where ur at.

    Definitely stretch before and after!

I work with about 8 physical Therapists 2 times a week, we see this all the time. I was a victim of the same. If you aren't stretching enough, you're going to cause tendon issues like you're experiencing. Do as they say.... Stretch for a good 30 min before and after a work out. Also, no bounce in you're stretches... you'll hurt something

Wow.. I had this 3 months ago, and it kind of freaked me out. Mine was after an intense Back/Bi's session and after I got home I started stretching and my right arm felt restricted in some way. I look down, and I see this little tendon sticking out on the medial portion of my elbow. I could feel it from my wrist to my armpit, and what I did for a few weeks was stretch (not to the point that it feels like it's going to snap) it out before/after ANY type of activity and it eventually (after a month) went back to it's normal ways. If you're really worried get to a doctor and get an opinion.

Streching is realy important, but almost equaly important is preforming biceps excerise correctly. If you strech your arms to far doing your curls you are at risk of injuring tendons and ligaments. You should always have some bent in elbows newer streching your arm totaly straight.

Also, not saying that you're doing this, but be sure you're selecting the correct weight - and not sacrificing form for strength.
