Today just before lifting I was stretching and out of nowhere I got this little "pain" in my elbow almost like a pulled muscle when I extended my arm. I hadn't even touched a weight yet.
The only time it bothered me was when I was on the flat bench and incline and it hurt bad enough I didn't continue them. I did my biceps with hammer, cross hammers, EZ-bar curls and one arm preacher curls and it didn't seem to bother me.
Just wondering..does anybody else get these little "sticklers" I like to call them ??

I just turned 35 but i started getting that here and there since i was 30 and had to actually take a 2 to 3 year break because it would get excrutiating at times. It only happened when i extended my arm during bench press and inclines etc. I tried going back a couple of times and the pain would come back . Now i started again about a month ago and not feeling it so far although one time i kinda suspected it would. My advice would be to take it easy and warm up well before anything. Good luck man. Hope it definately wasnt what i had or atleast to the extent of mine. I have asked around and i was told it can be tendonitus(tennis elbow)

Your description is a bit too vague to get a good idea of what's going on. However, the best thing to do is not work through it (never work through pain that worsens when you work the area) and go see your medical provider for a good history and exam.
Way to go on your weight loss, and good luck"I won't let go

if it's in the elbow fold, you did it either with curls/rows or lat pulldowns. if it's on the outer elbow (tennis elbow area) i'd bet you did it doing tricep pushdowns or lying french press. the latter used to happen to me all the time. It's been years and now i use straps for everything, and and never wrap my thumb around the bar, but keep it on the same side as the rest of my fingers, hope it helps and get well soon

Rest it a couple of weeks then come back and warm up well before lifting. I say one of the main reasons for these injuries is not enough warming up. I must admit, im sure thats why i got messed up. I was such an impatient kid i just wanted to go nutts right away at the gym. Thankfully its pretty much gone after a few years of not doing anything but now im careful. Ill be devastated if i injure myself so that i cant work out like before.

Bio & Long
I think you both might have nailed my problem.
I didn't mention that I have a disability left hand, missing index/middle finger and nerve/tendon damage to the hand/arm about 1 1/2 yrs ago in a industrial accident.
weightlifting has been part of my rehabilatation as well as my weight loss program.9-26-08 407 lbs

Ouch sorry to hear that, but a thumbs up for keeping at it. It would be wise to relax your forearms and grip pressure while doing certain exercises, also with this you will find that you will target the muscle group you are training better, though you will probably have to drop the amount of weight, and really concentrate on bar/dumbell balance. I use wrist straps so bars don't slip out of my hand if my grip pressure is too relaxed.

it has always been my own PERSONAL observation, that stretching BEFORE lifting would result in more injuries, not less.....
so, I have shelved it completely.......
my warmups are using very light weights in the basic movements, getting progressively heavier......
since I don't limit myself to pre-ordained numbers of sets, I don't care how many I have to do to get a proper warmup before hitting the work sets......
also, warmups do not take away from whatever weight or reps I do in the work sets.......
I will do stretching at times, during the day, but even then, I am cautious......

John and a couple of others have it exactly right IMO. You obviously injured it during stretching, as you reported. Stretching should not really be done before exercise, and whenever done you need to be careful about it. It's best done in moderation after a good warmup, if at all.
