    help with protein

I just bought ON 100% Whey, im wondering if i take syntha-6 in the morning when i wake up and my ON Whey after i work out if that is gonna make me fat lol, im doing cardio and working out every day with a good diet. Im trying to get some muscle but keeping it defined, i dont want to be strong and have alot of bodyfat, im wondering if it will make me have a pouch on my stomach if i take it at those times or if it will affect my definition throughout my body(what little i have) lol

    thank you

The only way you will get fat/gain muscle mass is calories in > calories out. If you are working out and doing some cardio you should be fine. If you take syntha-6 with ON 100% and you're still getting fat, then your diet is crap. Protein won't turn into fat as long as you're doing something productive with your life; or taking a ridiculous amount (200-300g when you're not big). Protein on bro.
    Fear God, not heavy weight.

im gonna be a dick for 2 seconds bare with me because i just want to clarify for him (jtreece i'm sure this is what you meant)

if you intake protein it will either become muscle or waste product in the body (body can't store protein without it being muscle) its the carbs and fat in the shake you drink that could make you fat if you don't work it off so your caloric expendature is greater than your intake.

    protein es bueno

i don't see how protein can make you fat because fat is stored up macronutrients is it not? and since a store of proteins is called muscle then protein can not be stored as fat. Lipids and carbs can be stored and they are stored as body fat for later usage so if you can give me some actual information on how protein is stored as body fat by all means do so but i still dont see how its possible

p.s high protein intake needs high water intake remember that

all macronutrients protein included have a caloric value[excess calories if
not expended will turn to fat[calories in vs calories out ]

protein has a kcal value[someting like 4kcal per gram if I remember right then cho shares this same value[4kcal per gram]
while fat has 9 kcals per gram

    yes what he said.

    In my words:
protein can turn to fat if you are in a caloric expenditure (taking in more than you use)

protein = 4 calories per gram
carb = 4 calories per gram
fat = 9 calories per gram

Yes! That's what I was getting at. I ran into that problem when I first started lifting. I was taking in a ridiculous amount of protein, but not doing much with it. Oh, how great it was to be naive. Basically, my stomach ballooned. lol.
