rofl if i want to increase my bench ill work on my chest and triceps thanks, im not interested in using my legs to bench, not to mention the gains from this would be minimal. Oh and you havent shown me ho squatting will help with my bicep curl, or with my military press

Oofap, do you really have nothing better to do than this?
First it was annoying, then it was funny, and now it's just down right pathetic.
Our goals are different, I made mistakes and I am fixing them, you however are a weak internet tough guy.
Anyway, I am just going to ignore you from now on, if anything, Im slightly flattered you go so far out of your way to make these threads.
Have a good day.

If you had ANY idea what the helll you are talking about you would know proper leg drive in the bench press wuill get you an easy 10-15 pounds, possibly more. Instantly.
However, I agree that you would just focus on pressing strength as your not a competetive powerlifter.

I understand that it can add to your bench, but benching should be focused on the chest (bbing-wise). Of course for powerlifters this technique is great, but the guy I quoted said that squatting can help with ALL lifts among bench press. What he was getting at is the old test-releasing theory, and anything released from squats is minimal to nothing in benefiting other body parts. I understand the use of leg drive.

Hopefully this will stop the teen bbing forum tornado:
You guys ever heard of the spillover effect? If you haven't, educate yourself. Your legs are the biggest part of your body(hands down.) Therefore, it would be ignorant for someone to say that the rest of your body is not going to get bigger if you're training your legs hard and heavy. Your body should grow as a whole. And since you guys can't relate to anyone that has posted in this thread...I give you, Arnold Schwarzenegger. Arnold, in Pumping Iron, specifically stated that he would NEVER let one bodypart increase while the others stayed the same. "Your body grows as a whole." Again, keep in mind that if you're going to flame this part of the post, flame one of the greatest bodybuilders in history, not me. Granted, if you DO NOT train your upper body with the same intensity and drive that you train your lower body, don't be surprised to NOT see gains. Training legs exclusively and expecting your upper body to reap the benefits is foolish. If you want bigger arms, train arms. If you want a bigger back, train back. All I'm saying is that training your legs will help facilitate the rest of your bodys growth.I got mod negged-contribute to getting me back in the green by repping me!

@op: agreed, so many lower heavy people complaining about it because there jealous chances are.
I like Schwarzenegger's view on legs, train them so they dont look to small for your upperbody but not to the point where they look too big or so large its a turn off for your aesthetics.
Basically, just squat and nothing else. Maybe a calf iso on top of it.

Have you read any of my posts lately? I dont even think fully body is useful anymore unless its for an absoloute begginner. People change their views, I know mine have completely turned around in the past few months. I personally belive split or fully body make no difference, they key is frequency volume, and total weekly volume.
I made my mistakes, I am fixing my mistakes, I however dont go around making pathetic threads like this. However, none can doubt my leg process, how can you say I failed at being more muscular, 4" per a leg in 6 month isnt a muscular gain?
I joined this site because it is enetertaining and there is alot more traffic, BB.com is more than a muscle cuilding community, many people are interested in strength and performance.
Where does petty trash talking get anyone? When I get to 175 I will still have double your strength, however you dont care about strength. I do care about getting proportional and feeling good about my body and am working on it.
But no, you can just be a weak **** like oofap.

It all depends on your goal, tho.
If you're comfortable not having big legs but have balls enough to call yourself a "bodybuilder" or an "athlete", you're a hypocrite.
And there is no "basically" about what arnold said...he did more than just squats for legs. This isn't the 1970's anymore where a nice upper body will have you win competitions...lower body strength and power is an aspect that will make/break you in many different sports.
Training your lower body IS hard.I got mod negged-contribute to getting me back in the green by repping me!

my legs r big. ive only seen one guy squat more than me and he was about 350 pounds. i put my original mass on sprinting in soccer and baseball as a kid. always had big calfs due to genetics, even with 1000 hours of jumproping i store fat on my calves
