I beat the Dancer and Bayle so far both were ez no summons. Playing a mage Cuck build to try something new. Usually do Dex or pure strength.

I ran strength and sword first playthru and quit in manor

I'm running dexterity hookblade build now ,much happier

I don't put any ash on my blade ,I'll use incantations

That way I can put whatever grease a boss is weak to on them

If a boss is fire I run fire neg talis ,if magic ,magic talis

You have to prep different for each fight

I'll also swap out chain attack to jump attack as most chains get broken anyway

Also ,if you hold sprint with one finger and press jump with another finger you'll perform a long jump

It can't be done with one finger ,once you let off sprint the animation doesn't trigger

Just started a new spellcaster build because I really suck at dodging and parrying. But can anyone give me tips about when I get bored around Altus Plateau? I have done about four characters and always get to about level 70ish and then just get disillusioned. Seems like the game scales way too fast sometimes and you go from being comfortable to getting one shot by everything.

You should almost never get one shot by everything. Level your vigor.

Unequip scarseal/soreseals if you're taking too much damage also.

That happens to me every time I play. I have a blast up until Margott and then everything after that kinda sucks except for Faram Azula. I just power through


I made it all the way to Messmer and he kicked my azz for about an hour. I think I need some more scardutree fragments. He keeps catching me in his 1000 hit combos. I might have to bust out the greatshield, call up my black knife girl and jump his bitch azz

Yeah, working on that. Also working on being able to block/parry and dodge with a decent melee weapon even though I'm primarily a spellcaster. Some spells take too damned long to cast.

The best int spells in the game are glinstone pebble, the ice projectile and night comet. Those all come out quick and have good damage to fp cost. If you're a faith caster black fireball and lightning spear are your best bets but faith spells are just much slower and really hard to use on fast bosses.

If you're an INT caster then some of my fav weapons are Carian Knight's Sword (super low requirements and can get it early)

Dark Moon Greatsword (requires 16 str and you get it late but I love it)

Death's Poker (higher str and dex requirements but an awesome ash of war)

Helphen's Steeple (high str requirement and you get it late)

Wing of Astel (high dex requirement and awesome ash of war for big enemies or groups of enemies)

Moonveil (18 dex requirement but one of the best ashes of war in the game)

Clayman's Harpoon (only weapon that scales Int natively where you can change the ash of war also the only one of the list that takes regular smithing stones)

Honestly don't even worry with parrying. It's not worth it unless you're a God at it. I've beaten every boss in every Dark Souls game without another player and the final boss of DS1 was the only one I ever parried. Elden ring is the same. Just get a 100% phy block shield with the highest guard boost you can find. Blocking is really just stamina management.

Damn, the black steel great hammer is sick. Need to use it on a new character based around guard counters. Pretty sure I broke several of the main npc side quests anyway so gonna have to do a new run if I want to see them. Guess I’m doing a paladin build.

I got it as a guaranteed drop from one in the first church you find near the start.

Was trying to go a different route in the dlc and do a int/dex with the Star-lined katana but I keep going back to bleed because it works so well and I like the aesthetic of the incantations better.

At the final boss now. Not what I was expecting. Think I have a couple of other remembrance bosses left so I think I’m gonna try and do those first. Now that I’m at the end, I think I’m gonna look up a guide for the remaining fragments. Want to me maxed before I finish.
