Sooo is the Battlefield franchise dead?

I was just thinking about how much I'm craving a minimum 32vs32 shooter with multiple disciplines like mortar, artillery, tanks, jets etc. Used to love BF1942, BF2, BF 3 and 4 were both incredible too. Not had a new release in fkin ages and they cucked it with the last game

BF3 was the best due to the maps. It had something for everyone. Several big vehicle clusterfukk maps but also a few infantry focused maps with just a couple tanks or an LAV. BF4 was very similar in that regard, it's just the quality of the maps wasn't nearly as good. BF1 was the last good one but I think the era held it back; if it was the same game design/mechanics just in WW2 era I would have liked it a lot better. Also some retarded OP vehicles in that game (artillery truck, Russian bomber, and one of the behemoths).

2042 just isn't a Battlefield game. It's not as bad as I thought it would be, but I'll play it for a couple weeks and then just drop it for a month. It doesn't have the same replayability as the earlier titles. BFV was shiit.

BF4 is goat, but BF1 is by far the most beautiful and atmospheric of them all.

2042 tried too hard to cater to apex and CoD players rather than their fanbase. Specialists really screwed it up as well as crap map design and lack of weapons and customization. The game doesn't even feel like a Battlefield game at its core.

I can’t stand how fast paced the newer battlefields are after Bad Company 2. Everyone sprinting around the map like COD killed it for me.

BF3 and BF1 were kind of fun but it’s just too fast and twitchy for me.

Go and play Bad company 2 and then play any game after and you’ll see what I mean.

Not even mentioning all the woke bs they’ve added recently and yeah it’s pretty much dead.

In addition to the aforementioned woke chit that pushes away the core demographic, you gotta keep in mind how massive the Warzone component of COD was/is, and especially back when covid started. The shift to "all COD, all day" was huge.

Graphics are actually great. People use mics. Team work is a MUST, there's no rambo, bunny jumping, or sliding.

Not really. I can't put my tongue on why. I don't have many hours of gameplay tbh, main reason I stopped was because there was mostly bots online

-Most Maps are the size of COD warzone, honestly bigger tbh. A lot of running
-Destruction is miniscule compared to previous entries
-Classes feel almost pointless
-They have heros in the game similar to COD

BF3 is completely dead on Xbox. No servers show up even with all options checked. I tried on PC like 2 years ago whenever some fans tried to do that revival or something but there were only like 5 servers up back then. Doubt it's much better now.
BF4 still has servers up on Xbox. Most are hardcore though which I don't want to play. The ones that aren't are 24/7 Operation Locker or Goldman Railway.

Scoreboard and text chat were there. I think they added those in though. I didn't get the game on release because I heard it was such a shiitshow. I never paid attention or noticed the pronoun shiit. The atmosphere was fine but the operators are cartoony.

It's smooth but the guns are very inconsistent. The maps are trash for the most part.

Yeah BF1 is probably one of the best looking shooters I've ever seen.

I picked up 2042 like a year and a half after its release. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but it just isn't a Battlefield game. I don't think people would shiit on it as much if it wasn't released under the Battlefield name and if they didn't hype it up as a "love letter to BF3 and BF4 fans." Doing away with the class system and having specialists with abilities is a mistake.

Same. 1200 hours in BF3, 1500 hours in BF4. ~500 hours in BF1 but felt like a lot more. Less than 50 hours in BFV it was dog shiit. 2042 I'm at like 200 but I only play it due to lack of alternatives at this point.

Bf1942 got me into gaming and played the series religiously until BF3. Could see the writing on the wall with the releases after that and stopped playing BF and boycotted EA completely. **** them.
