Let me know when you can do 300lbs as part of your set for multiple reps, then I'll be impressed and consider that your bench. Not just once.

100% this. Would rather push decent weight controlled with good form to a point where the last reps are difficult. Much better than looking like your eyes are about to pop out because you just have to get some magical number set in your head….only to get messed up and placed out of commission for weeks/months. And that’s before even getting into maintaining longevity of joints.

Wat? If someone told me they could bench 300 lbs. I would assume that was their 1RM. Didn't know when you tell someone how much you bench you're supposed to tell them what you can do for 10+ reps lol

Op is a rtard. Of course someone tells you their one rep max. literally how it has always been, unless they specifically say the amount of reps
180 lb crew
Take chit and pis 165lb crew
Go to bed, wake up 173lb crew
Annoyed at eating whatever I want and not getting fat crew
Accidentally get fat crew
Back to 175lb the next day crew

let's use a basketball analogy
if you can hit a three point shot one time, but can't hit anymore after that..... it doesnt mean you're a 3pt shooter, it means that is not your range.
if you can shoot and knock down 10 three pointers, say you go 10 for 10... then you're a legit shooter from that range.
claiming 1RM as your max comes off as small D energy
your real bench claim should be what you actually lift multiple times in your sets.Ave Christus Rex
