It would be next year, not this year, but my credit score is almost 700 for the first time in my life. I am debt free, earn $55k/yr with $2k in savings and about $20k in my 401(k).
I often dream of just taking a year off work to actually enjoy life instead of this perpetual meaningless wage slaving.
Should I take out a bunch of credit cards with $5k limits and max them out to go live in Europe for a summer?
I’m thinking I’ll quit my job next spring, fly into London early May 2025, explore a bit, maybe rent a flat for a month, then take the train to Paris, treat my girl to a romantic week, then head down to Sicily to see my ancestral home and live there until August. I’ll return home on that Transatlantic cruise ship Queen Mary II around Labor Day, which is a classy week long voyage from Southampton to New York.
Seems like a dream. I know it’s financially retarded but what if I die before I can retire? Then I’ll never do it.
Talk me into/out of it brahs.

To answer the question your question, no sounds retarded
But why are you working part time? Based off your other threads I thought you had a full time job. But you said itt that you make 55k per year?? Why not start working full time to get your salary up above 100k and that position will more than likely provide you more than enough time off to do this type of holiday? Srs, vry srs.

Good point. My credit score is getting pretty decent. Instead I should probably be looking into buying a home to escape this rentcel life.
I’m slowly realizing I’m in a better financial position than I thought though. I was talking to a friend over the weekend who complained he’s $10k in credit card debt. Not from a trip or buying anything substantial. He’s just been door dashing every meal since Covid hit and charging it.
Probably like 5 years. Depends how much the trip would cost. I’m estimating $15k, so I’d max out a couple cards and cash out my 401(k) to cover anything remaining.
Reason I wouldn’t pay cash is my low wage. I just can’t save enough, it would take like a decade lol.

My thought on the state of the world is that it's over for everyone except the already wealthy so the most logical course of action for most men is to stop worrying about work and just thugmaxx.
People make fun of blacks, Indians and Muslims all the time on this site and no one cares. I make fun of landwhales, and all these simps show up.
At least blacks, Indians and Muslims are human beings. Landwhales belong in a zoo. They aren't even human. What is there to be offended over?

Taking on debt to go on a holiday is bad debt.
However, taking on debt to invest is good debt.
So what you should do is get the credit cards and invest it in short expiry options, high volatility and allows huge leverage (all good things), 10x your money, pay the credit cards off asap to minimize interest and then use the profits to go on holiday.
This is responsible financial management.
(This is not financial advise, consider your personal risk tolerance before investing)

To all the misc 401K millionaires, hope you realize that by the time you reach retirement age, the value of that money will have been inflated to chit or the government will straight up confiscate it.
There is no future for the USA, so you might as well optimize the now.People make fun of blacks, Indians and Muslims all the time on this site and no one cares. I make fun of landwhales, and all these simps show up.

Save some money, and just go spend a week in Detroit.
You'll get the exact same experience of seeing nothing but blax and muslims everywhere...

This is mega level retarded.
First things first: Europe is now a complete SH/TH0LE infested with 3rd world migrants. The nice parts of Europe like Switzerland, certain parts of Italy, France, Germany etc are too expensive for the average pleb to afford. The measily $5K CC limit can't even afford a 1 night stay at a hotel in these places. Yes, hotel, because there's no such thing as Motel 6 at Lake Como in Italy.
2nd: Get a new f/cking job. You bi/tch and moan about your job every 2 days and yet do nothing about it. Update your resume, start looking for a higher-paying job now.
I actually knew some kids in college that, after graduation, took a year off to travel to tour Europe. And after that they landed prestigious jobs at large institutions. Do you know who can afford to do this? Rich kids who already had parents in high positions, therefore it was virtually gauranteed that they'll have high-paying jobs after their year of goofing off.
Sorry, but you're a goyim pleb, you can't afford to do this. And you wouldn't want to do this because Europe isn't beautiful anymore like it was in the 2000s before Mr Shekleberg decided to implement cultural enrichment.Everything I post is satire.
